The life of seeds ....

One of my strongest memory as a kid was breaking these dry husks open and blowing those billowy seeds out .. like the softest down feathers available for kids to play with. This butterfly weed did not reach such a noticeable cycle until now .. in fact it bloomed like crazy and seemed so happy ( another groan .. I know .. but gardeners sense these things .. so live with the phrasing!) .. I hope this doesn't mean it is ready to pack up and leave for plant heaven ... I was just getting to know it !
