Plants Please !

I have been so preoccupied by kitten/cat issues since Emma arrived. I feel like an absent gardener especially since we are still locked into snow/ice mode. Out of desperation I have my Xmas gone Easter gone "I'll bloom when ever I darn well fee like it" cactus .. it is a pretty one so no arguments about bloom time from me !
My mini me African violet has yet again surprised me with blooms .. poor little thing is neglected .. forgotten .. all sorts of mistreatment .. and yet the little darling honours me with flowers .. you have to love a character like that !

Beautiful. I tried growing and African Violet once. Of course I killed it. I seem to be much better at outdoor plants for some reason.

African violets are great - they are so faithful! /Katarina

Joy, your African violet looks so content. I don't think it knows the meaning of neglect!

I can't decide if I like your cactus blooms or kitty pictures better. Probably the kitty - they grow up so fast, etc.
I hope now that March is going out, your Spring won't be far behind.

Hi WS .. your name still makes me laugh .. what is the story behind that ? .. yes .. I am stuck in kitty and house plant land here .. hopefully April will be a bit better and I can at least do clean up in the garden !

"ben" .. I have been so bad with this little guy .. he must love me a lot to flower like this ! haha

Hi Katarina .. yes .. I'm begining to see that with this little one.

Cinj .. I was bad with houseplants for a long time too .. I think it is a phase we all go through. At least out doors you can't over water them like indoors. I think that is the trick.

Hey Debbie .. are all the monkeys behaving over there ? haha

Thanks nancy .. this cactus is a force unto itself .. blooms when it feels like it and that, is that ! Funny .. it is in the same conditions as the rest of them ..

Blooms to make you smile. I love what you did with the aloe plant ... great idea. I've got a hyacinth just about to open ... a little bit of spring on the kitchen counter.

Hi,
Is it too late to stop by? I am up later than usual and wanted to say hello and see how the kitties are doing?

That is a lovely color on the cactus flower...I have 4 house plants...A jade plant, a sansivera, a sedum and a giant philodendrum...any more and they would die from neglect as it is they get minimal care....bad indoor gardener!

Hi Gail .. that is really nice of you to pop by .. heaven knows I have to shut down my lap top early in the evenings .. just too pooped .. love to see comments in the morning !
Sophie is really coming round with Emma .. so nice to see .. I know it is early days yet .. but this is going positively .. Emma figured out how to get on my HIGH bed .. she did it mountaineering ?styly with her kitten claws ..
It is funny how many wonderful gardeners have problesm with indoor plants .. but I used to as well .. I'm just lucky right now ? LOL

Hi Crafty .. the smell of the Hyacinth in bloom is wonderful .. we love that .. but the boys here are a bit allergic .. the sneezing .. well yikes ! haha
The two aloe I have .. well they do flop .. I didn't know what to do to keep them up .. so raffia ties are my on the spot solution .. I always seem to use it for one thing or another : )

That African violet blossom is BLUE. Beautiful (or is it my monitor?). At any rate, it looks like a very contented household up there, in spite of the melting ice outside.

Sweet little African violet and a handsome Christmas cactus... nice to have something flowering to tide one over, until spring begins to oblige us with a bit more color! ... Deb

Hi Deb .. it has been amazing how fast our snow is melting (I'm so happy to see THAT happen ) .. we are lucky not to have a problem with the flooding issue .. the ground is saturated ..
Yes ! this mini violet always suprises me with its little blooms !

Hi J .. it is a funny and intensely coloured little guy for sure. I still can't get over those Hawk Moths and how much they move like Hummingbirds .. that was a great shot you got !

Isn't it great how violets thrive on neglect? I tend to kill them with kindness/too much water, but I'm learning.

gorgeous blooms but the photos are what really make them stand out! Beautiful.

Hi Diane ! .. this mini me is something else .. it hangs on in spite of me, LOL
Thanks .. that blue is really intense .. hard to get it detailed with it shining at me like that : )

Lisa .. I used to be the same way .. now I buy porus pots .. it saves a lot of plant life here now .. haha.
