I found it !!

I swear ... I didn't plan on buying actual garden plants today .. honestly .. I really mean that. I was looking at BBQs .. for hubby .. checking prices out as he was tied up today. And yes .. buying that all important full sized second litter pan to keep Sophie and Emma happy with their choice of box "A" or box "B" .. it can be important to them .. and we want to keep those girls happy !
So .. what the heck happened that I came home with 8 smallish but EXCITING plants for the garden ?? .. I just couldn't believe, after two years of looking for the Korean Rock Fern (not in a huge hurry, kind of waiting and looking stroll) BANG .. there it was at Wal-Mart .. how did this happen ? ... then it sort of escalated from that point .. as you can see .. I'll get back to them some other time .. for now .. Good Grief ! Plant Mania has grabbed me by the throat and throttled me yet again !

Hey, you were being selfless (vis-a-vis the barbecue), so surely you deserved a little treat!

Good for you!

Keep that picture and the tag that says it... promises it forever. I'm a sucker for a plant sale anywhere I go. I walk around work all day telling myself..no..no...no..no..It's hard when you are surrounded by carts and carts of flowers all day.

Ha! Isn't that how it always works? You go out looking for something else and BAM. These other things just jump into your cart.

I'm amazed that you've gotten by with one litter box until now. Maybe my cats are just more finicky. I have 5 litter boxes. Okay, I know I'm over the top, but I've got my reasons! Reggie was by far the worst when it came to litter box finickiness (hmm, is that even a word?). I scooped them all 3 times a day and she would still go on the floor if they had all been used (even once!).

Oh Joy, I hear your pain. If there are plants in the building, I will find them.

hello, it is an addiction, admit it? :-) Soon there will be Gardeners Anonymous and self-help groups. But do we want that? No! :-) I am the same way.. I just can't pass by the plants and yes, we are cat owners, too.. whose faithful servants we are. :-) Great post, thanks. Andrea

Hi Andrea .. you know, I said to my husband that it could be worse .. I could collect "diamonds", clothes (other than garden ones) spa visits (my garden is MY spa!) .. he knows .. wink wink .. he is lucky ! and YES, we are faithful servants as well : )

Nancy .. I don't know why it was so tricky to find it, these last two years .. but it is home now !

Debbie ... it is like we have a homing device on plants ? LOL

Good grief Cinj ! .. we have always been lucky with our cats .. the majority of time they just use the one .. but these two girls are BIG cats .. Emma may be bigger than Sophie .. so we have this plan in place .. you have your hands "full" with Reggie !

Anna .. I don't know how you do it girl .. a plant store or a chocolate store .. it would drive me over the edge .. at least with plants, you can't gain weight ? LOL

Jane Marie .. it was a GOOD day indeed !

"ben" .. the BBQ is selfish actually .. meaning I don't cook on it EVER (hate gas .. scary to me ?) so hubby is chief cook for summer ! yippppeeee !

Amazing what pops in your basket when you're 'not shopping' isn't it?

Hi Joy, is that the litter box holding your plants? If it is, that is an excellent tie in to the plant buying. Good for you, plant buying is almost as much fun as plant planting, don't you agree?

Joy, we often find things when we least expect them. Sort of like litte gifts from above. And when that happens I don't question, I just buy! I'm anxious to see how it(the fern) grows.

Hi becki ! .. that is the way I look at it too really .. I get such pleasure from it .. it is too funny to see me .. like a BIG kid ! haha .. I have to fid the perfect place .. for two of them now .. picked up one more today .. couldn't help myself : )

Frances .. I don't think I could start off the garden year with out some little presents like this .. and actually that was Emma's little litter box that was replaced with a "grown up cat " one .. it was totally cleaned out ming you ! LOL

Hell Iowa ! .. I am still amazed to find this one .. it was on my wish list for two years ! luv it !

VP .. I am a magnet for OOPS ! what have we here ?? LOL

I had a not shopping day like that too, 10 viola sororia, 5 x rubra, 5 x freckles and 2 pelagoniums with interesting leaves mysteriously appeared in the boot of that car, I have no idea how they got there

::koff::

It was a plant officer! ::groans::

Plant mania? I think I'm infected, too. That Korean rock fern looks so lovely I may have to go out looking for one myself.

Lol well done, Joy. Those little objects of our craving are never there when you're most eager to get them but regularly pop out of the blue just when you're shopping for BBQs, for instance. Our nurseries are getting tons of new stuff these days and I'm trying to visit as little as possible as it's giving me sleeping problems, even in my dreams I keep wondering of all the treats waiting for some lucky green thumb nutter. Have fun with Plant mania and may all of your newbies bring joy to your garden for ...well, just 'longtemps'.

Hi Violet .. isn't it strange how this plant mania happens to us ? One minute we are behaving like "normal" people , the next I stop dead in my tracks and start talking to plants !.. it is probably embarrassing .. to anyone next to me ? hubby doesn't care, he is used to it all now.. besides .. we did end up getting the new BBQ today .. and .. a few more plant babies .. LOL

Rose .. you have to get one of these .. I got a second one today !

Zoe .. I have "Freckles" too ! .. and some yellow horned viola .. plus lots of Labrador violets already in my garden .. just something about them eh ? .. did those nasty plant police give you a ticket ? LOL

Waaaaaa, how the heck did you get to buy plants before me? I want a perennial shopping spree and I'm going to hold my breath until I get one (sigh...I'm so jealous).

melanie ... you did buy plants before me girl ! I remember saying , how the heck did you DO that BEFORE me ! .. I remember it almost ... clearly !!
