Tiny jewels and friends ...

Well .. Blogger is still not a happy camper .. but I keep trying here ... fingers crossed this will make it under the wire too. These tiny yellow bulbs .. I have forgotten what the heck they are ! ... but darn cute in the miniature kind of way .. I love the contrast to everything with these striped leaves from the mystery tulips I don't remember planting .. if I ventured a guess .. I would think .. the squirrel mafia is messing with my tiny mind yet AGAIN ! This last picture has a wee bit of "Walker's Low" cat mint .. I'm looking forward to BIG mounds of it .. I really like the greenish blue foliage and the flowers to come. Plus once it is at home (planted them last year) .. it will be drought tolerant which makes my life a lot easier ... phew ! ...

I *love* walker's low. I bough a clump four years ago and last year I had good sized seedlings to spread about the yard. There are more this year and I've got a big mound that's ready to be divided. It blooms practically all summer here and the bees are crazy about it.

Those little yellow flowers look like some sort of buttercup to me, but I'm no expert by any stretch :)

Hi Amy .. I love cat mint .. my first nepeta was musinnii? spelling probably wrong (early morning .. brain didn't get out of bed with me yet) haha .. it is one heck of a workhorse in the garden .. I wanted some sprawling to go on and these plants are perfect ! That is great you got good sized seedlings to spread the wealth !

I think the yellow flowers are Eranthis hyemalis. Pretty aren't they. I've got some too.

Six Hills Giant Cat Mint is another goodie. It's big enough to be a pretty blue shrub. My cat, Pete, thinks he owns this plant and naps underneath it on summer afternoons. LOVE the dainty yellow blooms in your photos!
