Freckles Violet or Viola sororia 'Freckles'

Here I am .. "resting" today .. reading blogs and posting .. I guess I am incurable when it comes to garden issues for now. I'm thinking when the garden is settled and that heat/humidity strikes .. then I will really be hiding in the house from the heat ?
I love my little Freckles Violet .. one plant has grown nicely in a few years. Yet in a little more time, the usual munching of leaves will happen and it will look very sad. So I'm trying to catch it in its glory before the buffet starts ! The flowers look so delicate with those pretty spots .. but this is one hardy little viola that will do itself proud in most gardens I should think .. anyone else have this little spotted cutie ?

What a lovely name for a plant ( - grins mischievously -). I can totally relate to the freckles ;-) I have never seen this variety before though, it is beyond lovely. I have a little slope rich in wild violets that have been there for decades and each spring they take me back to my childhood memories.

Violet .. now how would have thought how much you like violets ? haha
These are beautiful at the beginning of the season .. then some bug or bugs think it is buffet time for most of the season .. I don't use pesticide .. so nature takes its course.
I think so many of us had the wonderful experience of finding wild violets as kids .. so most gardeners are naturally attracted to them ? LOL

'Freckles' is one of my faves, too--so exquisite and delicate, but perky, too. I treasure mine!
