I can't help but admire these little guys. Labrador Violets are so tenacious yet not overwhelming in the least. I let them seed where I want them (which is about everywhere they want to go ) they look wonderful in and out of flower and take such extreme abuse from our heat, humidity and yet drought conditions .. and survive the mountain of Niger Seed husks where nothing else will bother to try and grow .. how can you not admire THAT from a sweet little violet with such pretty leaves ?

I don't remember where I was living at the time I planted a bunch of these. But I found out it grew like weeds in that state. We moved a lot in the AF--just reminding you in case you forgot. I planted a whole bed of these only to find out it was growing all over my yard.
Anna .. remember I'm an army com wife .. I think I can almost beat you in the moving activity girl !LOL ... Plus being on my own with hubby gone all the time.
These aren't quite weeds here .. yet ? .. but I still love them .. how can you not ? : )
This are the kind of "weeds" I like. They are my favorite groundcover in the garden, as they are not as much competition to other plants as Asarum canadensis or Lamium, my other ground covers. Some of my Labrador Violets even rebloom in the Fall. I totally agree, what's not to like?
MMD ! .. I have some Lamium as well. Becon Silver .. Herman's pride is another one .. I can't complain about these violets .. I really do like them !
