The Blues .. with Purples and Pinks !

I know this picture isn't a very eye catching one right now. But it will be rather amazing with the cooler weather and Autumn Joy Sedum proving its worth with gorgeous colour to contrast with the purple sage along with the golden. I am a huge fan of purple sage .. it seems to ward off nasty bugs/creatures. That with other herbs as dill and fennel .. it really is more than old wives's tales or the farmer's almanac suggesting preventive planting .. it works !

Russian Sage is another favorite of mine and I have to find a better home with wide open spaces for it to stretch in. It can look amazing on its own in full stature.

OK .. a shot of that intense golden yellow does show case the pinks and purples : )

A spider thrown in for GOOD LUCK !

Your garden just gets prettier and prettier! I love the hydrangea below. I would say it looks voluptuous.

I really want to try that sage you have. I think your garden is lovely. Looks much better than mine does right now. Your garden is so whimsical looking. I'd love you to come design mine!

Brenda .. you have an amazing garden yourself girl ! I love your pond .. I love the natural look to it .. and remember you have certified a natural wildlife habitat ? .. I thought that was wonderful ! .. but I also know when looking at other peoples gardens .. we see the best bits and want them too ? LOL
I didn't think the sages would over winter here .. and my pro-pruning guy was amazed too .. so I am VERY lucky .. you shouldn't have a problem with them in your garden .. give it a try !

barbee' .. That is a wonderful way to describe it !! Thanks so much .. now I can see there is something some one thought was voluptuous in my garden ! : )

Gail .. you nailed it kid ! .. all spiders have a Halloween side to them no matter the time of year ! : )
72 Days till HALLOWEEN !!!!!!!!!

You do the purple pink theme so beautifully. I'm a fan of all your flowers. I need to use the Russian Sage next year for my dry back gardens. I love that plant. In some areas of my garden( old garden) it never goes dormant. It does need lots of room.

My favorite colors in the garden--pink and purple (and blue when I can find it)! I have the Russian Sage next to coneflowers, too. Mine is huge this year and overwhelming some smaller plants--they do need their space:)

Rose that is what I have found too .. Russian sage is gorgeous but I underestimated space values .. I have to move some little plants out from underneath it so they can breath ? LOL .. it is one gorgeous plant when in full strength though isn't it ?

Anna .. that is what I thought too with your climate .. Russian sage would be fine all year round .. your gardens don't disappear under many feet of snow on you ? LOL

I love the first photo. The purple is subtle but beautiful.

You have a riot of color in your late summer garden. Mine is just about done for the year.

Hi Marnie .. I actually neglected my garden so much this year if it wasn't for the rain it would be in awful condition .. so mother nature really helped me out.
I love Fall colours .. so I try to have a lot of plants that come in to their own for that time of the year .. but it gets so much more challening every year I wonder if I can keep up with it !

I love the Russian sage! Is that balloon flower is the bottom right corner of the picture with the spider?

I love your eclectic mix of garden flowers. It tells me you're not afraid to mix and match, or unmix and unmatch. ;~)

Your cats are adorable too.

Peace.

Hey Hunky ! .. I am in the middle of dramatically shaking some plants up and my Russian sage is going to move to a new location to REALLY show it off .. glad to know another admirer ? LOL .. yup ! a tall ballon flower that is an odd shade of blue that shows up purple in pictures most times .. is it me, or the camera ??LOL
