Buds of Anticipation

Autumn has its advantages to see a last burst of colour in the garden. Beyond the fact that it is my most favorite time of year (almost everyone who has read my blog knows I'm a BIG kid about Halloween) besides that though .. the garden grants me some wonderful gifts to watch unfold. Anemones .. later day lilies .. cone flowers .. sunflowers and a few magnificent trees if all the elements cooperate with cool crisp weather. It all hangs on this 'elemental" influence. Like a recipe that has to have all the right ingredients and cooked at just the right temperature. my kind of Autumn hangs on a very delicate balance and I have my fingers crossed it will be a fantastic one this year : )

Love your passion flower. I need to show you how big my vine has grown this year. It will take about four pictures. I just love that bloom.

Debbie ... I can well imagine it is huge with your weather ! We had one in Holland which covered a large brick wall in the garden .. it was magnificient .. and there are so many different kinds ! .. I just grabbed this one (it was tiny) at a store we were in .. but next year I will be more picky .. it is hubby's favorite plant and wouldn't you know it is only an annual here ? LOL

I just had that conversation with my hubby this afternoon. I said..I want a long autumn. Not just for our beloved fall decorating--but it's the best time of the year with cider, apple treats, sweaters, cinnamon spicey aromas in the air---oh I can't wait.

That passion flower is awesome.
