My Halloween Flower !

OK .. how perfect is this for a Halloween flower ? .. I can almost here the Addams Family music or at the very least the Munster's theme music .. it almost looks artificial because the "petals" are so black and twisted like crepe paper ?
I always wonder why they look like they are burnt almost to a cinder when cone flowers give up the ghost ? Too perfect for my Halloween collection : )

Sheer perfection! Absolutely. I have never seen a better depiction of Halloween than this flower.

I wondered that, too! I couldn't tell if the TN Coneflowers were dead or just seed heads! Very Halloweeny!

Andrea .. my god you poor tired woman ! .. I read the bit about the fire alarm crap .. and the little preview of 2009 plants , which was GREAT !
I might drop into Michael's ?? LOL
More like Home Sense !! haha

Hi Patsi .. I have a lot of faith I am going to find MORE indeed girl ! : )

Gail it is strange how they look "burnt" isn't it .. they are a bit of a mystery still !

Hi Darlene .. absolutely Halloweeny flowers .. need a BIG bunch and theme music to go with it ? LOL

Brenda .. it is great to have a consensus on this fabulous scary ? looking flower to be "THE" Halloween Posy !

Crafty ... a whole bouquet could be tricky to hold but well worth it .. have to remember garden gloves and not too close to the face ? haha

I can imagine Morticia Addams arranging these in a vase. She wouldn't have to snip off the pretty petals, like she does with roses.

Perfect! :) And your bats scared me half to death...I've been chasing an ugly black spider...one of those jumpy things that looks like a crab...and when I caught your countdown bats in the corner of my eye.......... :/

Good catch, I love when you find a flower making a graceful exit like this. I think I like it even better than the main show, having Addams Family leanings myself.

Megan .. that is one vote for the Addams family now .. I loved both those shows as a kid so I can't choose between them. It is a rather remarkable "exit" for a flower right !

Nancy .. it took me a while to figure out what you meant .. then I laughed myself all the way to the bathroom .. in a hurry .. one of those menopausal things ? LOL

Hi Northern Shade .. that is exactly what I had thought myself .. no chopping off with these heads at all ! : )

How about Echinacea 'Dark & Twisty' - a "GardenJoy4Me" cultivar... perfect for your Halloween floral designs! I can just see the ad in Thomson & Morgan's seed catalog. ~ Deb

Now I know where the inspiration for Morticia's dress came from.

Deb .. THAT !!! would be PERFECT ! I would so love to see it in a plant catalog with me as the prime suspect in its breeding ? LOL
