Sage, Sedum, and Bee

I have specific needs this time of year. The need to see how pretty the sedum and my sage are together. Although it was windy yesterday morning .. and some of the plants were dancing .. I had to take some pictures of the beginning of the colour show.

I love the rough texture of the sedum against the smooth fleshy parts of the sedum. The flower is the amazing start of intense colour it will show as time and cooler weather passes on.

A wee bit of the golden sage in the upper right hand corner is trying to sneak in for a bit of "look at me" presence.

No need to worry ! I was going to have a nice picture of how pretty this one is too !

Then during my little eye spies .. a bee popped in .. blurry with movement .. but intent on catching the prize pollen from the sedum .. he/she didn't mind me .. phew !

My sedum has not flowered out yet. I suppose because it isn't as cool as it is there.

Joy,

The photos are crisp and beautiful! The sages and sedums look smashing together! The bees adds just a little bit of perfect to the setting.

Everything seems to like the sedum, doesn't it--bees, butterflies, and other flying creatures. I am entranced by mine this year. Yours does look good paired with the sage. I love the gargoyle looking down on your garden:)

Catching up on some posts today--you have some great shots of clouds and ominous skies!

Hi Gail .. things are beginning to wrap up now that we are getting consistently cooler weather .. my time of year ! : )

Hi Brenda .. it really is cooler weather that sparks the change in plants .. hard to believe Florida has cooler weather girl ! LOL

My sedum has just started opening its blooms(-: Yours looks wonderful. I love your Halloween counter. We shopped yesterday for more Halloween stuff. Found some cool stuff but waiting for it to go on sale. Hopefully this week. If not I guess I will have to break down and get it.(-:

My sedums are long time gone now, preparing for the winter in this sudden cold the fall has inflicted upon the sun-scorched land. I have thoroughly enjoyed the lovely combo but then the bee popped in and gave a new light to the nature's ménage à trois idea ;-)

What great planning! The fuzzy sage and plump smooth sedum leaves are very striking.

Hi Teresa .. thank you ! .. things seem to fall in place without a lot of thought then I finally "get it!" so I try to place the same planning in other sections of the garden .. constantly changing : )

Violet ! I love the way you put that : ) .. so you have colder weather than we do now ? .. it must be hard on you having it turn so quickly and having such dry conditions .. we won't have rain for a while so I know I will be out in the garden watering in as much as I can .. 2 more bags of compost waiting to be sprinkled around too .. BIG sigh ! LOL

Cindee .. thanks ! .. Hey girl you better break down and buy some Halloween .. I'll post a picture of one of my cute things just for you to get you started ? check back !

Hello Katarina .. thank you .. I love the combination too .. what works really WORKS ! : )

Love this! Feels as though we're right there with all that autumnal glory and the busy bee. Fellow Sage enthusiast, here! Do you grow the tricolor sage, as well? One season I grew the plain, purple, golden and tricolor in one corner of the herb garden... spectacular! ~ Tasty, too! ~ Deb
