The Secret To Shiney Pumpkins !

I bet this is no secret to most of you guys who love decorating with pumpkins. I'm probably the last one to discover this .. vegetable oil in spray (easy way) or just plain oil on a paper towel. I was so lazy I only did it on the side that is showing (which I will fix later since this keeps them fresh longer) .. they almost look fake the way they shine right ? I am too happy to find this out though .. what a big kid I am : )

My green Sunfire is also known as the "plant mobile" .. although hunting has slowed down quite a bit now .. I did plant a new heuchera on Saturday .. "Harvest Silver" .. on sale for $3.25 from $12 ... who could pass that up ?
I am holding back on the Halloween decor until we get Thanksgiving over with. Just easier for me to keep my head wrapped around the right events and when they happen. We went "hunting" for a turkey today and wow .. the prices shot up like crazy this year .. are they going to blame the cost of crude oil for that one TOO ????

Count me in... I didn't know either about the oil! But it is nice to know because (from your pictures) it looks like it works like a charm; your pumpkins are gorgeous the way they shine.

Your front porch looks so autumn(y). I can't wait to see what it will look like when you get the Halloween decorations up. After Thanksgiving, eh? Coming soon...LOL...

Working with these pumpkins must be like wrestling a greased pig!

Hi WR .. Thanks ! .. yes, I thought I'd get that out of the way and roll up my sleeves to work on Halloween then ? ; )

Not that you want to hear about Easter before Halloween is over with, but you can also LIGHTLY coat Easter eggs to give them a glow. Your pumpkins look great!

Dear Anonymous .. Thank you ! .. and we used to shine up our coloured Easter eggs with bacon fat believe it or not .. I don't know which was better .. the smell of Easter chocolate or that darn bacon fat ? hahaha
