I missed it !

I was taking advantage of the awesome warm sunny weather we had yesterday. We were to empty the shed so "shed-guys" could take it apart and haul it away, leaving the area free for the "deck-guys" hopefully this will all go according to plan ?
I worked very hard and could not resist doing some garden clean up. It was so satisfying to be able to start clearing off the borders and look for signs for life and there are quite a few ! Phew : )
One of the nicest surprises has been one of the Green Panda bamboo .. I have two clumps planted from last Autumn .. I'm sure the other clump has survived too, I just didn't get to it yet. I love the garden therapy I had even though I am aching and stiff today .. we use a lot of muscles when in the deep of garden zen ! : )

Better late than never, Joy; hope you had a good St. Paddy's Day! I've noticed Blogger has been rather slow the last couple days...I think we were all outside taking advantage of the milder weather to get some spring clean-up done. After several days of warm weather, my body is hurting, too--good thing it's going to rain tomorrow:) Can't wait to see the end result of your new deck and makeover.

It's never to late for St. Paddy's Day wishes! :)

We've had wonderful warm weather too, isn't it therapeutic? Even garden cleanup chores are enjoyable after a long, cold winter. Yes, there are no longer enough garden shows on television. HGTV should just go ahead and drop the G!

You've been busy in the garden too Joy. I am so tired & achey myself tonight. Need to catch some zzzz soon. :) Glad your Bamboo survived the winter. Always a good sign when we see those little specks of green around our perennials in the spring.

Hey, garden zen is the best-forget about the blog and get those hands dirty! Hope the deck/shed thing goes well.

I think you spend your sunny day in a very sensible way. We have to take advantage of unexpected gifts of sunshine and mild temperatures at this time of year and go and enjoy ourselves in the garden. Everything else has to take a back seat. ;-)

Hello there Phillip ! Thank you very much .. it is a great break from WINTER ! LOL

Rose .. exactly girl ! even though I was tired after the empty shed mission , I just had to see what my little garden babies were doing .. and it is wonderful to enjoy it after such a long winter .. girl, I can't wait to see the finished project either !!!

Hey Aerie-el ! .. the garden therapy was WONFERFUL !! : )

Hi Gail .. even with all the aches and pains .. and more work to come .. it was great : ) I'm in the "zen mode" haha

Hello Bren .. Thank you for stopping by ! Best Garden wishes to you too girl : )

Nancy .. I had a feeling you wouldn't mind the late "green Day" considering bits of the garden are green too ? : )

Robin .. well said girl .. I am thoroughly disgust with Canadian TV when it comes to a good straight forward garden show about PLANTS .. I don't want a designer "living space" in my garden .. I WANT PLANTS !!

Hi Racquel .. it did say hardy to zone 4 .. we are 5b .. but you always wonder what will really happen ? we need to remember to get more rest when we are working hard in the garden ! : )

Hi Tina .. especially since this winter seemed so LONG ! I thought I would never get to this stage .. I know we will have snow again but this was GOOD ! .. I'm so anxious to see how this will turn out too girl !

Hello Yolanda .. that is so true .. we NEED this type of therapy badly after this long winter .. I'm grabbing as much as possible ! LOL

Happy belated St. Patrick's Day!

The sun is calling me outside, too. It is grand today, but back to chilly tomorrow.

So glad it's warming up for you! I hear you on the sore muscles- the season for that is upon us! I'm out of town this week so it's nice to see what others are doing even though I can't play in the garden :)

Sounds like you're having the same sort of work done in your garden as we are. I, too, was sucked into the gorgeous sunny day yesterday and ended up doing some gardening while out doing clean-up and prep.

Hi Joy - it must be a great relief to be out in the garden again! We've had a week of fine weather here this week, but I'm banned from anything too active for 10 days as I've aggravated my sciatic nerve :( It's so frustrating!

Hi Cameron .. today went a bit chilly again for us as well .. I got sucked in by those two beautiful days we had .. I better get realistic again !

Hey There MT ! .. we are in for more snow before winter is done with us .. but those first glorious teasing days really grabbed me ! : )

Tessa .. I hope to get one more garden day in before we get snowed under yet again ? .. the irony of it all ! jeez !

Cindy .. we were so bogged down by winter we are desperate to have some quality garden time ! LOL

VP .. I truly understand how painful that is .. I had to have my disc fixed with screws and a bone graft when it was doing damage to that nerve .. pillow under your knees and quiet time for you young lady ! ; )

I've just been reading about Green Panda bamboo and thinking I should get some eventually to add some height under my trees (when they get big and shady). Glad to hear yours pulled through the winter.

Isn't it nice getting out and getting stuff done after shivering in a blanket of snow and ice for months on end? I still have snow here. Here's hoping we finally get that rain they keep talking about.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hi VW .. I am so excited about this bamboo .. I was very careful to read as much as possible and it all confirms that it is well behaved and perfect for what I have in mind .. YES !! you must have some too girl ! : )

Cinj .. warm rain would be great .. it does mess up our destruction and build routine .. but right now there is time for some of the wet stuff ? LOL ANYTHING is so much better than SNOW girl !!@

Is there not a saying "better late than never"? Happy spring and gardening days to you too. As we go into autumn there will be a lot of muscle needed. The summer with its warmth and rain has let everything grow out of proportion.

Monday and Tuesday were gorgeous here too, and even Wednesday was nice, although cloudy with a little rain. Bright sunshine today for the vernal equinox, but a frigid wind spoiled it for being outdoors.
Glad you got a little garden therapy in. Isn't it wonderful to work outside again?
Happy spring, Joy! :)

Titania .. I never get over how we are on such opposite seasons .. but I do understand about some years there is so much to do when the conditions work a little against us .. muscle years is right !

Hi Kerrie .. Spring is such a TEASE !! those days were wonderful, now we are back to the COLD but at least sunny days .. everything is frozen again .. darn !!
