Brilliant vs Flames

The title actually refers to some plant buying today .. on the spur of the moment, and what a "rush' it provided while facing the never ending challenge of being the "deckless house" ..
"Brilliant Oriental Poppy" .. this is one flower that husband enjoys and I am happy to have it in my garden even though it goes to sleep after its awesome showing.
I have oriental but no actual cultivar name .. so this one is perfect : )
Flames of Passion Geum .. I had nailed it as one I would look for this year but I was taken by surprise to see it so suddenly on my whirlwind tour .. I love the common variety orange geum I have had paired with a violet coloured salvia .. opposite ends of the colour spectrum and looking wonderful together.
This geum is a rebloomer in scarlet, so I am looking forward to watching this beauty.

My sunrise this morning .. right on the dot at 6'ish .. I never get tired of watching it and "catching" it .. you can't see this and not be impressed by the beauty.

My little tasty tulips .. fully opened in the morning shade .. looking fabulous too ! So I will try and avoid seeing the VOID from the back of the house and focus on the beautiful some where else ? : )

Those are some brilliant tulips blooming in your garden. Focus on them for now instead of the lack of deck. :)

Hi Joy, just catching up on my blog reading here after a busy few weeks. As always, your photos are gorgeous! Sorry it's taking so long to get your deck up. I know you must be anxious to get pots and other things up on it.

Don't sweat the deck. You have sun rises and a bright future when it does get done. And if all else fails there's always a nearby garden center.

I see you're getting the better of the camera now. Gorgeous shots of a great looking Tulip.

You'll get there!

Hi There Lisa .. yes ! and thank you .. it was a subtle suggestion with the orange yellow between the sunrise and these cute little guys .. I'm glad you liked that : )

Dear Mr. WiseA** .. I'm using my old camera still .. crazy eh ? I have to buy a new picture card for my new camera .. today may be the day .. and YES YES YES the garden centers are filling up with plants .. so I may escape to that relief ahhhhhhhhhhh ! : )

knittnkitten .. I know eventually it will happen .. but it is almost funny to look back and know how excited we were with the projects but after it has been dragged out this long we are stressed out and just plain exhausted from it all and I'm sick of being glued to the weather channel to see if the sun will hold for a few days ? jeez !!
