Sunrise and the ACHES Have It Now !

It was a fast sunrise this morning .. I was up at 5:45, my usual time in the summer .. but the sun rises even faster I find .. no beautiful dramatic red sunrises in a long while.
We have a FROST warning for over night in the wee hours of the morning actually .. one of the latest I have ever seen here .. whats up with that ??
What I did know was that I had a VERY long list of "to do!!" in the garden today and after over 6 hours .. not counting my lunch break which hubby was sweet enough to do along with supper (BBQ time !) .. I did the jobs that don't really show up immediately .. you know the ones I mean .. topping up soil .. trying to put netting over the arbors for the clematis to cling to ( great trick on a windy day !) .. finally planting my Cosmos and sunflower seeds .. and I wonder why I bother .. the garden centers have all these as starter plants it seems .. that might be one OFF the list next year ?
I managed to get in the shower and scrub up .. eat a delicious supper and put some laundry in .. but now I am going to noisily crawl towards my bed and FLOP in it for the night .. and it has just gone to 6 PM .. how sad is that I ask you ??
The moon or half moon was out this morning .. I couldn't resist that .. a bit grainy and fuzzy but still noticeable ?

My favorite pine tree (OK .. my neighbor's pine tree) turned almost a sepia image without me touching it on my program .. I think the sun was so bright as it rose that it washed the colour out completely .. kind of neat !
Now if the sun was in the other direction .. west .. you would know for sure this was the end of this post ... zzzzzzzzzz ! Oh my aching EVERYTHING !!!

Oh you poor thing, must have over did it in the garden. You seem to catch such a lovely sky shot, and I like the photo of the moon very nice!

Love your attitude and your pictures. Can't believe how cold it is where you are. It is hot here in So. Calif. and we just had a small earthquake. And our sky couldn't look more different than yours.

Hi Cathy .. thank you girl .. the moon is very high and far away in the sky so the picture is a bit grainy and doesn't have good definition .. but soon during the summer months it will be closer in the morning and I'll have better shots then ! .. Boy .. it is one aching body today after yesterday .. why do we do that ? LOL

Randy .. thank you : ) I have that 26 x optical zoom with this Olympus .. I know I can get better shots when the moon will be closer in the summer months .. my other camera would have a hard time trying to focus on this distance too .. a little too far away yet !

Hi Cameron .. thank you : ) .. It is a weird body clock thing that happens to me especially in the summer .. I just wake up at that time .. so some coffee and a peak out doors and I can't help but snap away ? haha

Hello there Barbara ! Thank you girl .. yes we are still cool here .. I would feel totally out of place any where else other than our east coast ? .. my god ! an earth quake .. now that would have me shaking in my garden clogs ! LOL

It was strangely cold here yesterday, too, Joy, though not frost-cold, thank heavens! Thanks for the tip about the netting for clematis. I'll have to remember that! And thanks for the amazing sky shots, too. I hope you had a well-earned rest and woke feeling better! I always wake with the light, too, btw, and that's certainly pre-6 these days...

Helloooo there 'ben" ... it was cool this morning but no signs of frost thank heavens !I am very sore today but my curiosity for a new rain barrel has me thinking I might manage a shower and getting dressed to go out with hubby and have a look at it (plus there might be a plant or two that could hop in the truck as well ? haha)
The netting I use (and almost every spring the clematis beats me to the proper ground zero stage I should start at .. anyways it is a finer gage that is actually used to keep birds off planted areas like a veggie patch or seeds .. the clematis climb better with more support and fill it in nicely so you don't see the netting .. I have fairly tall arbors so it is nice to see them way up there ? LOL
The sun beat me to it again this morning .. drats ! haha

I feel the same way today Joy. Must be the cold weather. It is cold here too-unseasonably so. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Frost, yea what is up with this.. I was out at 6am spraying everything off before the sun hit it.. We got a really heavy frost this morning... It was 31 when I got up. Running around in my PJ's and ball cap and coat watering things... Can you picture me!! LOL

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Thanks Tina ... it takes another gardener to know what this is like .. we just can't seem to help ourselves once we hit high gear and work a day like a maniac ?
Hope it doesn't switch to summer heat and humidity in a snap .. we never seem to have a nice low keyed Spring for a while any more !

Lynn girl .. You made me really laugh this morning ! You are a gardener after my own heart .. that is my way of babying my garden come hell or high water in the morning when I have to do something FAST no matter what I look like or what I am wearing .. I hope this is the last frost/warning for us all now .. enough of this nonsense already EH !!

My achin' bones are feeling for you, Deah! I'm so tired at the end of the gardening day that I can't get into my blog and am having difficulty keeping up with all my favorite ones.

Your pics are beautiful, as always!

Giddy girl .. thank you ! .. I actually had to take today off and go back to bed .. I was just so tired and achy .. getting older sure puts a crimp in my garden stamina .. aren't we all getting to be in the same boat too ? LOL

Who's taking all those GREAT pictures ?
Is that you ? lol
Amazing. I'm truly impressed !!!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hey Patsi : ) Thanks girl ! How are ya' ?
Yes .. very funny .. haha ! .. Actually I'm still not sure about this new camera .. I find I have to despeckle quite a bit .. more than my other camera .. but maybe it is me ?

JOy, for heavens sake. Leave your cosmos in the ground. Let them die there and don't pull them out. They'll reseed over into next year!

Ophiopogon Nigrescens ;)

LMAO. OKAY! Just ignore that last comment.. apparently I have several windows open and that last one was for crafty gardener. haha! Lame! I totally fail there!

Hey you! Beautiful shots of the moon and the sunrise. You are the best. I don't get to see the sun like you do, just as it tops the trees. So when I woke up very early this morning I turned on the light and read myself back to sleep. Good night! Hope your day is warm and perfect for gardening! gail

Andrea .. I am laughing here girl .. you are trying to do too much AGAIN .. but as you have mentioned it .. I am leaning towards getting some Black Mondo Grass as it is girl ! haha
Yes .. DUH on me again .. I will let them seed where they are IF they forgive the way I slapped them in the ground that day .. I was doing too much myself THEN .. big groan ! haha

Gail girl .. I am so grateful to have that view of the rising sun .. I don't of the setting one at all .. I'm still trying to figure out this camera and I know I can get even better shots if I kick my brain in gear .. still quite COOL here .. good thing I haven't planted my urn yet .. but I think I might today or tomorrow : )
