I took one spot in my back garden and found so many tiny treasures. They combined in such a way, to make the whole picture what it is ... I just know every gardener has little wonders working so hard for them too .. making the big picture look simply amazing !

Love it all! I think the moss that blooms is really cool!
oh i love that! your pictures made me smile...how beautiful!
Mine are all accidental! Don't they make you smile when they turn out so well! Now I must look in the garden for tiny treasures! gail
My friend Deb taught me many years ago to pause and focus on little moments in your life...and it's exactly, EXACTLY what your photos remind me of! When you talk about the moss...I love the fine lined form, but I love the contrast of the pansies (or are they Johnny-Jump-Ups??) against the chartreuse!!! Great post!
OHhhhhh your moss is blooming! How sweet. Love the little blue flowers in the head. :-)
Hi Joy, What a treat to see the tiny treasures in your garden. I have a few myself that are sweet. Of course their in containers so everyone will notice their dainty beauty. :)
It all comes together so perfectly! I love little spots like that in my garden- makes me want to get my clay out and make that tiny, hidden village I've been wanting to make! Maybe next year :)
I love how the little blue flowers makes a halo for "the Face of Boe". It seems like I remember that you would get the reference. Am I right?
Ohh what a great post!
THANKS!!!!
I must say that its a you to loook at al the leafcolours and shapes in contrast with eshother.
Linda
Your garden always amazes me with the beautiful colors! I love all your combinations of plants. The moss is beautiful. I have some too! I tried to grow it in a shoe but it liked it better in the ground(-: Your stone face is very cute too!
Oh my goodness I really NEED to steal your garden, the whole thing in one swoop. Probably whilst you sleep. Yep, me and Maggie are working out our devilish plan now..... Gorgeous Photos/planting!!!!!! xx
Hello Sheila ... thank you very much ! Sometimes it takes a little concentration to see the smaller picture : )
Tina girl .. I have come to love moss over the years .. I have some growing between our patio stones but it doesn't bloom like this little one .. I'm glad to have this !
Hello there cat ! Thank you for stopping by again .. glad you enjoy my garden : )
Gail .. we all have a tiny treasure "pocket" in our gardens some where girl ! .. go a hunting ! LOL
Hello islandgardener ! .. thank you so much for visiting .. I think these are called "BlackJack" violas .. my husband really likes them so I'm trying to make sure they are happy in that spot .. the foil of foliage and structure is what I enjoy too ! Your friend is a wise person : )
Hi Janet .. Who would think how sweet these are .. the blue flowers are a type of campanula .. they just seemed perfect there : )
Racquel girl .. I have so many containers on the deck .. well, one more and we would explode ? LOL .. but you are right to have them in containers so people can see them easily .. mine is more for the hunting party ? LOL
Tessa !! .. Thank you girl : )
As soon as you said a tiny village .. one that hides among the plants , it would be such a wonderful idea : )my mind's eye is working over time thinking of it !
Maybe you should start a little now ?? I would love to see that : )
Jill girl ... YES ! the Face of Boe .. one of my favorite characters in Dr. Who (can't wait to see the new WHO ! LOL) .. I didn't think of it until you said it, and then SNAP ! Now every time I look at him I will think of Boe : )
Hello there Linda .. thank you ! It is one of my favorite spots in the garden .. I get to see it from the deck all the time : ) makes me smile a lot !
Cindee girl .. Mista G says good morning .. he loves his spot on the sewing table with Dave and WG : )
Thank you girl ! .. I know I would be so happy to see your garden as a whole .. it would takes days, to take all of the touches you have made, in .. you are so creative girl !
Carrie , you are so sweet : ) thank you !
Now I have to sleep with one eye open to watch our for you and Maggie ?? LOL
I have always said if we ever won the lottery we would have to pick up my garden and take it with us to the new house .. now once you figure out how to do it, TELL me too please !! LOL
Your beautiful moss makes mine look cheap and shabby! No delicate little flowers on the moss here. The shaded gardens make for great photos, don't they?
Oh the tiny flowers on the moss are so pretty. Perfect size bouquets for Fairies. :-)--Randy
Oh yes, I love the little treasures that draw our eye downward and make us look more closely. This is beautiful, Joy. What is the little lavender flower? Are they the "Black Jack" violas?
SO gorgeous, Joy!!! You really have a genius with plant combinations. Loved them!!! Poor Shiloh is in detention now but would like to say hi anyway. And of course, Linoose sends his regards to the girls!
Hi Donna .. I am converting more and more to shade gardening since my maple trees demand sky space .. but YES ! they do make great photos : ) .. I'm just lucky to catch the moss flowers just in time !
Randy .. we have small garden lights every so many feet down the borders. So now I will be thinking "Fairy Nightclub" with little creatures dancing around throwing tiny flowers out of their bouquets ! ; ) .. sounds like a children's book in the making (the nightclub only serves white and chocolate MILK !! haha)
Hello Rose ! .. Yes ! they are Black Jack violas , aren't they gorgeous ? .. I hope they return next year .. if not I will just keep planting them anyways : )
The little bell shaped lavender flower is a campanula .. I'm not sure of the cultivar name though. I'll try and search it down !
'ben' .. Thank you ! my goodness what did Shiloh do to get detention ? chewing on something she shouldn't ? rough housing in places with certain cats she shouldn't ? poor girl .. my girls say big MEOWS to Linoose ^..^ ^..^
It always amazes me what you can see when you take the time to look closely. There are jewels in smalls spaces.
Too cute !
Don't know how you have so much eye candy already...it seems it was just snowing last month. lol
True Blood rules !
Hello there Les : )
A BIG yes ! to that .. some times we are in just too much of a hurry and miss these wonderful events .. moss flowers are so tiny .. easily missed .. but each section of a garden has their own personality : )
Patsi girl !!! OMG that was a great episode into season 2 !! .. just keeps getting better and better with more plot twists : )
Another YES to what our seasons are like here in Ontario (Canada in general) .. once we get going ... we RUN with the garden .. I was just flicking off lily beetles this morning BEFORE I had coffee .. eeuuuwww !!!
Ooooh, aaaah! So pretty Joy! I just love how you combine shapes, colors, and textures. That blooming moss is so cute!
Lovely composted, I wish I had borders like that :-)
Greetings from Vaxholm/Tyra
I'm also in favor of the moss - and since I'm also a "little picture" fan, I very much enjoyed this post on yours.
Hi Linda : ) Thank you girl ! .. It never ceases to amaze me , what plants can do and how they make you feel ; )
Hello there Tyra from Vaxholm girl : ) .. thank you .. I have to visit you more often myself .. there are so many blogs to visit I sometimes slip up a bit ? LOL
Thank you Pomona : ) .. moss makes me stop in my tracks .. it shakes its tiny fist at me and says "LOOK at ME !!" and by golly I do just what it shouts at me to do ! LOL
I had no idea moss bloomed! That's one of our state flower, you know. The other is mold. Kidding. Our state flower is the rhodie. I LOVE all the textures and colors in your garden.
Hello there Curmudgeon ! ... Thank you girl !
Isn't it a strange little plant ? .. I don't think anyone considers that it blooms with teeny tiny flowers ? haha
When we lived on Vancouver Island we thought the same thing about moss and mold there .. they can totally take over eh ?
You mean to say that you just "flick" off the lily beetles? I squish them!!!
Rose
Rose girl ... I didn't have my garden gloves on, I just couldn't do it THEN ! ugh ! I will be putting them in a brown bag and tossing the next time !!
I clicked over from Rebecca@IntheGarden's blog. I've been bopping around looking at everyone's summer pictures because I'm so sick of winter. I just love the way you have combined all of these plants. That is a great spot with the driftwood and the little face. Well worth the repeat picture. Thanks for brightening my day.
Hello there bloominrs !
My goodness thank you ! .. I think we are all so sick of winter we don't know what to do with ourselves now .. except pine over last years pictures and dream about what might come forth this year to be our treasures .. I'm hanging in as long as I can .. and with as many brain cells I can rescue at the same time ? LOL
Yup, browsing through last years pics. That's about all we can do. Stop the loss of brain cells *snort*, I'm not having much success there. ;)
bloomrs .. that brain cell thing is very tricky .. a heck of a balancing act with all the food cravings that winter keeps smacking us over the head with .. is that a girl thing I think ? Don't we get enough of the bad side bothering us as it is ?? jeez ! haha
