"Mums" the word ......

I'm always thinking "this lighting isn't quite right" .. too sunny or too cloudy .. colours washed out or not the right hue .. of the thousands .. and I do mean that now .. thousands of pictures I take of my little garden, only a few really make me think "That's IT !!"
So for now the not so just right leap forward because of the bizzillions of mum buds ready to burst .. and burst they will be soon !
Lots and lots and LOTS !!

A different colour for a different mood each and every one of them !
Plus they look great with the rest of the plants ?
Whether colour coordinated or not .. they are HERE !

Pinky doesn't mind sharing either ... takes some of the stress off him ?

Even the colour of the foliage seems to vary with what colour the actual mum flower will be.
A mix of two colours in one pot intrigued me when I bought them in the summer .. seemed perfect ?
So next it will be the Aster's turn to shine .. soon ...
Mean while back at the ranch ... sleeping smile face was resting on a large piece of driftwood ....
Totally unsuspecting of the creepy crawly that was winding his way down to see what all the commotion was about when camera lady ran screaming about some web and scary things happening to her ?

The mums are beautiful and what a show they will make...Did I miss when you put them in? I have so many wild asters and such little sun that mums never get into the garden...just in containers. Pinky is gorgeous....The spider just stopped by to remind you that Halloween is coming soon! gail

Hi Joy, you must have the perfect conditions for those mums, they are so full of promise! I guffawed at you running inside screaming. Sorry I should be more sympathetic but it just seems funny, I was still thinking about sleeping smiley on the driftwood. :-)

I love everything about mums, Joy! The gorgeous form and foliage, the way the foliage smells, the beautiful buds and flowers... Guess it's time I run out and get a couple for the autumn harvest front door display! Thanks for the tantalizing preview!

Those mums are going to be truly spectacular -- I can't wait to see the show! And I love that garden spider, but then I'm partial to them. Everytime I post a picture of one, though, the comments start coming, with lots of words to the effect of "Eek!" Gardeners are funny people.

Look at all those potential blooms, that is going to be gorgeous riot of color! My Pinky grew quite a bit this season but no blooms. :( I'm thinking it might be getting a bit too much shade in the corner where I planted it. Might need to move it this fall to a better location.

You do have a crop of mums. Bet they will be beautiful when they bloom. Your spider looks busy on his/her web. I do enjoy spiders, but know they are scary to some. Enjoy your garden.

Hmmm, your mums look great. Gets me thinking that maybe I should stop treating the ones in containers as annuals. I'm a spider fan too - in the garden, not the house. I do move them from the house into the garden. LOL.

Cheers, Yvonne

I luv all the photos of the buds. They are every bit as interesting and pretty as the blooms will be. I have that same spider in my yard. How does he/she get back and forth between our two yards so quickly? And thanks to Linda Lunda, I am now going to refer to all my mums as Yummies.

Hello there Mary .. yes this year's crop of mums is a big one .. they certainly got taller than I expected .. and I pinched back a LOT .. spiders .. as long as they don't want any hugs from me .. are fine ! haha

Yvonne girl : ) thanks for stopping by ! You have so many beautiful plantings in your little piece of heaven , but maybe a few mums in the ground would be a nice touch too ? .. yes .. the spider thing .. I try to get them

Joy, I think I am going to start a new campaign. Mismatched gardens, unite! I love flowers. I don't care what color they are, what color they are next to, I just love them all! So don't worry if your lovely mums don't coordinate with the others nearby, just enjoy!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Robin girl : ) I feel the same way about most of my garden .. I take sun requirements in mind but as for coordination ... pooh ! they all get into bed with each other ? LOL
