The Scream ..................

OK .. I want to know who has put a HEX on me and our house .. stand up and tell the truth !
After dishing out a wad of MONEY to have a critter ridder company get rid of the obnoxious raccoon who thinks he pays our mortgage ? and own this house ?
We thought the process was done and dusted ... yeah ... SILLY ME ?
The trap door was sealed over and not a day or two since the guy left we hear BIGFOOT up in the attic trying to get out and taking what ever furniture he made for himself out the attic timber with him ...
So what happens ... poor husband has to tell me before I hear the racket too .. and I did HEAR THE RACKET ...
Instant melt down and two hysterical messages to raccoon man telling him that his employee of the month did something STUPID .. he really didn't make sure the "guest" was gone and sealed the hole and has driven me to check out every liquor bottle we have in the house .. not that I can drink it but I just want to look at them ..
They came out ... two trucks ... got in the attic and this guy was not leaving .. so .. another trap door and another few days that we have to wait to see if Godfather Raccoon will finally move on to another victim ...

In the mean time ... this is me .... I can't stop screaming ...................................... why us ??????
Many thanks to Kyna (Crystal Coast Gardener)an expatriate Canadian who expresses a lot of her adventures with a cartoon format and a walloping does of HUMOUR ... which I need lots of right now !
Can you hear me now ?

While we have racoons all over the place, I've never had one take up residence in my, well, residence. I'm so sorry for your travails. And you are funny!

Christine .. this happened two years ago with a mommy raccoon and three little ones .. we had no idea until the neighbor's said "why weren't we invited over for the party you guys are having?"
Seemed funny at the time ? Now it is me just screaming ... put ear plugs in because you will hear me eventually all the way over there !!

Joy, are you for real? How could this happen? Could there have been more than one in there? I don't know what it is with these critters and your place; they just don't want to go away. There must be an ad posted in their local paper "Cheap rent at Joy's place" :)

Hilarious cartoons, by the way, especially the second one!

Did you at least serve him hors d'eouvres before you gave him the boot??hehe. You'll laugh at this some day too. I hope you get rid of the little bugger...at least it's not a skunk!

I hear ya! And I feel your pain, Joyous. The beggar! You'd better watch the remote and hide the snacks! :)

I am so sorry you can evict the raccoon...Tell your critter ridder guy that a rag soaked in vinegar will clear them out so fast you won't believe it! It worked at our house! Within half an hour she had moved those babies out!

Hop[e what ever they do works! gail

I know I shouldn't, but I'm laughting ... it must be the humourous way you wrote it. But on the serious side, I would be screaming too ... I would be refusing to pay the racoon guy, in fact I'd be demanding a refund.

Thanks for the sweet message you left on my blog. Sorry to hear about Mr. Raccoon they can be scary. I do love the color of the porcelian berries, such a different shade of blue. Hopefully I will have time for posting to my blog since I just got a job and it is taking a lot of my time and I need to get my garden done. Luckily I am working at a nursery so I have access to lots of plants at a discount...fun!!!

Good luck evicting Mr. Raccoon!

Yikes now that would drive Jack insane! They don't really bother me except for the fact that Jack barks at them nonstop until they leave!
Which is what happened at 2am last night! I was up for an hour with him barking and growling at the raccoons! So no sleep for me! Geez!
They don't like barking so after they fill up on cat chow they head on out the door!

Martha girl I was going to send a note your way about what happened yesterday .. but I had a day I would just rather forget .. this is like something from Ripley's Believe it or Not .. it just keeps getting better and better ?

Cassie funny you should mention the skunk thing .. for one moment yesterday while I was repeating the mantra "it could always be worse" a skunk image passed through what brain cells were sparking ? ;-) I know I will laugh eventually ...

Nancy girl I swear snacks are disappearing some where and John swears it isn't him ?? ;-)

Linda .. the one thing about the owner of the company is that he will not stop (some what like the terminator" until we are raccoon free .. if he had been the one a few days ago doing the job it would have been done RIGHT .. I think he has to have a serious conversation with his employee ??

Gail .. I will make sure to mention this method to raccoon man .. anything that might help oust this bad boy/girl I will try !! Thanks !

My goodness ferne you are very welcome ! I envy your access to so many different plants .. but yes, you will be stretched with so much to do between your job and your garden .. it is going to be wonderful though !! Good Luck girl !!

Cindee girl .. you and I definitely have a problem with sleep issues .. I won't rest easy until I know this thug is out of the attic .. but barking on top of it all too .. BIG headache called "Jack" ? LOL

I hope he is gone for good. The sound of tiny mice feet walking in the ceiling above me, does me in.

I am smiling big time, Joy...not at your predicament--but your story! If you can't find some humor in it you really would go nutso! I sure hope this last trip out by these pest-control-people will do the trick. I love that first cartoon you added...it is PERFECT for your situation;-)

You would think that after all that effort they would be able to finish the job.

The guys, not the raccoon.

I hope that it is all resolved soon, this must be nerve wracking for you.

Oh, nooooo Joy, that's just terrible. I too am sorry for your troubles with damn raccoons, but damn, girl you ARE hilarious...I hope this gets resolved very soon. Like, today. Stay out of the liquor bottles, now...

Hope he is gone for good this time Joy! We had squirrels in our attic, but al least no bats in my belfry!

OMG! LOL! I know it is not funny but that coon is harder to get rid of than a bad relative.Give the booze to the raccoon maybe the silly thing will stagger out.

Scream all you want. I can't imagine what I would do if a raccoon was in my attic. Worse is thinking you got 'em when you don't! I'm hoping this is the end of your problem.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Sandy girl at least they are tiny ? I know that doesn't help but when you hear one of these bad boys trying to rip a hole out of you attic to leave (now that the party is done) well .. I'm still screaming and we think he actually did leave ? Good luck with the pitter patter girl !

Eric .. I smell cedar from your seed box project still and it is calming : ) thanks .. this has been the second time in two years we have had this happen .. I'm sure they are recommending us to all their friends .. but .. and I do say BUT .. we think the scoundrel left now ? fingers crossed.

Jan girl when I ran across that cartoon I thought it was perfect too ! and you have to have some humour .. after the screaming or in between the screaming .. as long as you have some ?? ;-)

Jen it really has been nerve squashing to me .. if I was able to get in the garden it might work off some stress but being in the house and pacing .. not a good thing ! ;-)

Jodi .. does licking the labels count .. just to see if they really stick to the bottles ? we think he left last night .. that is what my husband is telling me .. he actually went out and saw him wander off the roof and up the street ... the raccoon that is ?;-)

Lona I have considered if he has a sweet tooth (liquor ? or just something hard and fast on ice in a BIG glass!) .. this is so irritating !! aaarrrggghhh !!

OMG, love the raccoon cartoon! But sorry you have to deal with those critters in your attic. Maddening! Paid $8 for that water can pot at Marshalls. What a deal!

I think blogging about this mishap is good for you Joy and certainly a bounty of laughs for all who read your witty post! Humor is a good thing to have at a time like this. Hopefully your uninvited guest will be gone for good soon! Keep laughing and screaming too! Maybe you can make him leave that way! LOL! Truly Good Luck!!! ;>)

Oh no! So sorry to hear about the stubborn guy. I really hope they can get him to leave and he stays gone. I think I did hear a faint scream in the distance...

Hang in there Joy!! I'd be screaming too, but have faith that this next attempt will get rid of him once and for all!

Oh Joy, I'm so sorry to hear about it. And I do hope that you get rid if it soon!!!
A lot of hugs (to make you stronger) gittan

Deborah girl you sneaked in there on me .. no bats in my belfry yet although that could be debatable ? Yes i have heard squirrels are REALLY bad to have there .. I just want non human being s to go find another place to watch TV ?? ha !

deb I'm sure you must have heard a few of my screams and especially after the "fact" the guy sealed the hole up and this poor thing was WANTING to get the heck out ?
It has been said by husband that he saw 'it" leave Saturday night .. lets hope so for every one's sake ? ;-)

Robin girl you got a wonderful bargain with that water can .. it is beautiful and rustic ! just what I would get too : ) .. yeah .. you have to find some humour after you scream and cry a lot ? haha

Carol it is a good therapy .. and if I had to listen to me (which poor husband has had to ..) I would leave then for sure .. nothing more aggravating than a woman in hysterics ? ;-)

Catherine I would be surprised if you didn't hear me ! even way over there ? haha .. we think he is gone this time .. crossed fingers !

Rebecca girl .. we had the boss with a crewman this time and I now he knows if it isn't done right this time .. well he just knows it HAS to be !!! haha

Hello there gittan !
Thank you girl !
I really need to kick myself into being stronger about the whole thing .. I am an ex-army wife who handled "it all" but some how I lost that strength but I'm working on it again !

Joy! I'm so sorry I missed supporting you in your time of frustration! I worked closing shifts at the bookstore the last couple of days...

When you mentioned all the 'racket' going on, the first image that jumped into my head was from the movie 'The Great Outdoors', where the bat got into the house and John Candy and Dan Ackroyd were trying to kill it with a tennis racket, and breaking all sorts of stuff. I think you should have sent your husband up there with one! LOL.

GREAT cartoon btw, I laughed so hard when I saw it LOL. Thank you so much for the flattering mention of my blog, you're a girl after my own heart :D I do feel for you through all the laughter though, I was be so mad and already halfway through one of those liquor bottles by now, if I was in your situation ;)

LOL! I'm sorry but I have to laugh. ;-)

I hope the critter finds a new place to stay, where he's wanted.

As a naive city girl, I kinda think they're cute.

Paz (running before you're tempted put a hex on me or something) ;-)

OMG Kyna .. I just got all of that as a looping mental picture too .. I just can't believe we have been hit twice in two years .. and for god sake we have so much booze in the house yet John and I don't drink .. but I am still LOOKING at them a lot ?
Well I have so many laughs reading your posts with cartoons and sarcastic wit that I have to try and do it too ... to save what is left of some of my sanity ? which is very little .. we are still in the process of waiting it out before the guys (minus husband .. I won't let him up there) go back and fix the insulation that Fat B*****D made runs through .. frankly I don't ever want to know what he has been up to there .. the nightmares I'd have .. but .. soon I will be able to get in the garden and work out my frustrations right ?? has to happen some time ... right ?? I'm looking at the liquor cabinet while I'm typing ... can you tell ?? LOL

Paz .. I am running over to where you live and smack you one ! or better yet .. we shall trap FAT B*****D and ship him to you so you can share a great big warm hug ? LOL ... JEEZ !!!!

Carrie girl ... I know it should pass, but when the hell will it pass ???????

Oh no. I can't imagine anything worse. I'm SO sorry ~ I wonder why it's happening too. I hope he's gone by now. I swear the vinegar will work...
Hang in there girl.

Thank you Kathleen girl .. it has been so much more intense and stressful from yesterday than we could have imagined .. I'll be posting on it.
