Shadow Shot Sunday

I stumbled upon a photo segment called "Shadow Shot Sunday" hosted by Harriet of Hey Harriet but by way of Christine of Raven Ridge Garden .. sounds complicated doesn't it ?
It is for me because I want to leave a thank you trail to these bloggers for the opportunity to join in .. since a lot of my pictures are in the shadows .. go figure ?
This was Emma today .. doing her cat washing face routine and I managed to catch her with her paw away from her face in a flash of a second .. too funny : )
Next Sunday I will try for Sophie : )

How adorable! Nobody enjoys a sunny spot like a cat does. It's a feline speciality... :-)

It's a good shot, Joy! Emma look pretty happy. I like the shade too, of course!

Emma is adorable! That's such a sweet photo of her. I have a Sophie also, but my Soph is a dog :)

Thanks so much for joining in Shadow Shot Sunday. I didn't see your link in Mr Linky so I just added you to it now. I popped over here via a comment you left on my first SSS post. Have a great week!

Hi Carol .. she is a real character .. and so is Sophie .. people that don't have cats have no idea how complex they truly are ? LOL

Hello there Paz ! I will be stopping by as soon as I finish answering these comments .. thank YOU ! : )

Thanks Rebecca .. it was one of those moments ? LOL

Christine thank you for showing me the "way" girl : ). Next to gardening I love photography !! so this was such a treat : )

Ms. S .. girl how true is that .. my girls are big cats so sharing the sun can have its very funny moments .. but they so love using every inch of it : )

Tatyana : ) hello there girl ! I am more a shade person myself .. funny eh ? when as gardeners we need some sun .. I retreat to the shade like some of my favorite plants ? LOL

Hey Harriet !! .. thank you so much girl ! .. I had a feeling I forgot something during this process so thank you again very much for helping me out with the linky : )
I thought this was a great meme with photography .. my second LOVE ! ;-)

Kyna girl .. does Mr. A have allergies ? or you ? .. is there a reason you can't have a cat ? .. aren't I nosy ? LOL

That is a sweet photo Joy.
I am saying those naughty words (you posted about previously) now. We had several days of nice weather last week then quick as it came, it left & I want it back! Waaah...
I am over winter! ha. Doesn't matter what we want, does it?!!!

Emma's SO adorable! Now Linus is in love all over again! Too bad he can't print out the photo and hang it like a pin-up!

Tina girl it is amazing what a few days with sun and higher temps can do ! .. and ... I was out in my garden doing a bit of clean up and there is no better therapy : )
I smelled the earth and some of my herbs and what a pick me up : )

Thanks Dave : ) both my girls are beauties .. or is that the "mother" in me talking ? LOL

Thanks Kiki she doesn't mind me taking pictures which is nice : )
This Sunday Shadow Shot meme is fun !

Kathleen girl old man winter does NOT care how we feel is right ! But .. we are in the good zone right now and I have been cleaning up in the garden so I can not complain ? it was wonderful : )

OFB !! Emma a pin up girl .. well that would be right up her ally because I know for a fact she thinks very highly of herself .. so feeding into that ego would be her style .. if Linus is really good maybe one day a poster will arrive in the mail ? LOL

Thanks Kate girl .. my two little loves her are such sweet tempered girls .. I can't help but take pictures of them ? ;-)

Kimberly that is so true .. being a gray and white girl she does slip in and out of the shadows very well ! LOL

I like this shot of Emma she is soooo..pretty" I love your kitties I think they all are pretty.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hey Vetsy girl ! I have meant to get over to your place about a thousand times and talk about distractions .. my brain needs more training for sure !!;-) Emma is a pretty Main Coon kinda' gal .. and Sophie has the lynx pint with those big blue eyes .. they are both "hams" ! LOL

I had also been meaning to leave a comment about Molly..I did notice that she looks a lot like Panini..

She is just as pretty..I bet you miss her and your other kitty as well.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Vetsy .. I miss them every day even though we love Sophie and Emma so much. Molly was the most extraordinary cat I will ever know .. she traveled to Holland and back with us ..loosing them to illness is like a scar on your heart .. it never quite heals.
Panini is such a wonderfully unusual name and she is gorgeous : )

Those males cats are still coming around here as well.

I was given a tip by another blogger on another web blog concerning spayed and neutered cats... The question I asked was..

Will male cats still visit my yard after Panini is spayed?

Her reply was Yes! and she gave me this tip that I haven't tried yet..

Place moth balls around your yard this will discourage them she said because cats don't like the smell.

beautiful kitty made out of pretty!
i have a mighty cat named Shadow!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hi Vetsy .. thankfully it is only one so far .. so yes ! that may be a good trick to use : ) thanks for letting me know about !!
We do love our girls to bits but not the boyfriends ? LOL

Thanks Brian .. I tried to follow where you are and it seems you are a lurker ? ;-)

Vetsy said...

Hello again..I back with one more comment about the boyfriends and keeping them away...Gee" you are lucky with just that one.

There are at least six that come around courting Panini..

They make me appear as If I'm a crazy lady vaulting from the door chasing them around my car and up the street with a broom in my hand when I catch them squeezing through my fence...LoL!

Anyway... Corner garden sue left a comment on my blog..she said that she didn't think that placing moth balls around the yard would be a good idea because they really stink and probably isn't good for the environment.

She stated that she try this once..and I think she may be right.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Vetsy girl ! I almost spit my coffee on the monitor laughing at the thought of you running after Panini's boyfriends : ) now that was a funny image girl : )
Yes .. so far we have only noticed "the one" for the girls so fingers crossed no more join in with our better weather.
Yup ! after I read that and commented I realized the smell of mothballs is something I don't want to catch in my garden.
I do have an environmentally healthy alternative .. we have a spice mix here called Montreal steak spice .. I used it when we had a problem with a stubborn raccoon in my garden .. the only smell you get from that is garlic and pepper and it does work well .. although you may have an urge to BBQ steak ?? LOL

Vetsy said...

Joy..speaking of funny. I just got a good laugh out of this one.

Montreal steak spice?..

That would make me want to BBQ every time I pass that area..

Hey.. I thinks it's a much better alternative to mothballs LoL!

I think I can get use to smelling spices in the garden that make me want a steak LoL!! Thanks for the tip...I like it!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Vetsy I swear it truly does work !
And ... the funny thing it is cheaper than the brand ones like "Critter Ridder" we buy MST at Costco so it is the big container .. and yes .. the problem is it smells yummy and you want to eat steak a lot ? LOL
