I have a dreadful feeling it is going to be one of those long HOT DRY summers ahead of us .
So I was not expecting an interesting sunrise this morning, but I was proved wrong.
There was supposed to be rain .. I wanted rain for my garden babies .. but it was a sunrise to watch .. it was subtle but totally engaging ...
The clouds moved in .. they did however move out again .. another stab at the non-rain forecast issue ..
Now if only it would rain so another "unexpected surprise" ? would make me smile ;-)

What gorgeous photos.
We're in the same mode - waiting for rain to soothe the parched grass and my little green ones.
Can't help enjoying the sun in the meantime, though. Definitely going to be a hot (and droughty) summer here, I think.
I'm planning on seeing the sun rise tomorrow. I want to get beyond the NYC area before rush hour(s) begin. If I get a chance I'll take a photo to prove it :)
Hi, Joy!
I love the new color scheme on your blog. Great pics! Happy Monday. :D
Thank you MW ! .. Even with us on Lake Ontario .. with very humid hot summers .. the lack of rain some years is scary .. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for rain soon ! Hope you get it too !
Dear Mr. WiseA**
You really do have to take a picture for me to believe that you have gotten up at that time of the morning ! LOL
Besides you know I love sunrise pictures ? ;-)
Hi Kate girl and thank you : )
It is a hidden feature for some reason on Blogger .. glad I could find it ? LOL
We are having the same sort of weather. Rain has been predicted for over a week, but we are hardly getting clouds.
I moved several plants last week, thinking they would get a good soaking, but instead, I have been doing extra watering.
That is a nice sunrise.
Thanks Sandy : ) It keeps going around us (the weather systems I mean ? LOL) on the other side of the lake .. and I know I have to get out there tomorrow for sure and water the beds so the poor babies aren't parched .. Spring rain ??? WHERE are YOU !
Very pretty pictures, Joy; photos like that give me a sense of peace for some reason.
The lack of rain is very frustrating; I keep hoping it will come because the garden really needs it. And, without those spring showers, we can pretty much expect some infestation or another. Lots of spring rain washes away some pests, so it's a good thing. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Can you believe I'm still up? It's late and I'm exhausted, but I can't get to sleep!
Martha girl I know you are probably up by now .. the girls woke me at 5 but I waited until 5:20 ? to officially get up and start the routine ;-)
.. I do know you are DOING the HAPPY dance ! haha .. it has been raining and it is cool out there so it will soak well into the garden .. phew !!!!
We were promised rain, too. It stayed south of us. Out I headed to my various gardens, watering can in hand. I hope my babies that I've planted survive. Put in more creeping phlox at my parents. They have a bank they are trying to get filled in. Last year the babies died, I didn't get out there to water. This year I'll go out every day and water if I have to.
Bonnie girl you are so busy ! Take a breath and a moment for yourself ! Yes : ) creeping phlox is wonderful for Spring show .. I have a little patch of it along with a variegated one .. they are pretty along with wall cress too !
Ah yes .. the watering thing .. I am so grateful to have the soaker hose out front .. it takes a load off my mind .. simple things can make a huge difference !
