Sky Plots

Do you ever look at the sky and wonder what it might be plotting ?
Clouds that look a little too intimidating not to keep coming back to the window to stare at them because you could swear they are staring right back at you ?
Gardeners watch the sky endlessly .. that is just how we are wired .. even when some of us have to give up our gardens to winter... we still ... watch ... the sky.
We can't help ourselves.
I saw an amazing one last evening ... down the street .. all of it happening at once.
I shot it through the maze of trees, which I don't mind .. through houses and street lights, the bits I don't like ... I used my zoom to it's max and was grateful for it.
The colours flashed within seconds and held only within seconds.
Shades of copper I hadn't ever seen before .. not like this.
It is a rush when you capture an event like that .. it isn't totally captured .. and many could look at these pictures and wonder "what is all the excitement about ?"
When I look at them .. I will remember the full length version instead of this short story, and that is good enough for me.

I am glad you caught that, it is beautiful. And, yes, I share you feelings about the sky.

Hi Sandy girl .. it was so much more detailed and amazing in person .. and happened so quickly .. the pictures can't really show the whole affect .. glad you know what I mean though! : )

Very nice pictures. I know what you mean about having to take pictures of the sky quickly because it changes. I've missed some good shots because of that.

Hello there RPS77 : )
Thank you .. the colours I saw didn't exactly translate in these pictures unfortunately but we take what we can? LOL .. I do't think people who aren't as "glued" to the sky as we are actually realize what a "show " it truly is and ... that it changes so quickly.
I am curious to know what type of camera you use ??

Great shots...
Love to look at the sky:)
- Cheers Gisela.
Nothing that is can pause or stay;
The moon will wax, the moon will wane,
The mist and cloud will turn to rain,
The rain to mist and cloud again,
Tomorrow be today.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Joy - most of the photos on my blog were taken with a Canon PowerShot A1100IS. I also have a fancier, more "professional", but slightly older Nikon D40X, which I use less often, mostly when I want extreme closeups of flowers or insects.

Hello Gisela : ) Thank you very much!
Ah .. yes .. this Longfellow with his sense of "time" .. you have to smile when reading that, don't you ?: )

RPS thanks for letting me know .. I am always interested in what other bloggers are using for cameras : )

I know what you mean about trying to capture the beauty of the sky with your camera. There is beauty in the photos, but like you said, not the display of the full length version.

Hi Sue : ) How right is that ? and it moves on so quickly that if you aren't at the right place at the right time you have lost it .. but we keep trying, right ? LOL
