Shadow Shot Sunday

I'm only reaching back a few days to when we had a bit of sun and my "other" tree and fence came to life from shadow magic .. we are almost out of February .. but my instincts say it is going to be a very late Spring for us this year .. and then BANG into the heat and humidity.
Mean while back at the farm ... visit the gang of "shadow shooters" over at Tracy's place
Hey Harriet .. and you will be simply amazed at the creativity these crafty people come up with!

What a great photo for this week Joy. I want spring to come and I want it now!!!! Why is no one listening to me?????

Spring will be here soon - I'll complain about the heat and humidity at some point, I'll wait for it to arrive...

The fence is functional, it serves a purpose in protecting the garden. Yet, its utility does not detract at all from the scene, as it leaves a wonderful shadow on the snow!

Great shadow, Joy. I'm hoping you are totally wrong about spring being late this year. :)

Hi there Donna .. it really does seem like this is going to be one stubborn Spring doesn't it ;-)

Linda girl thank you : ) I really loved the photos of the morning dove, you caught the sweet nature perfectly .. and your Xmas cactus ! I have to get a new one for Easter? LOL
Are those pictures taken with the new DSLR camera ?

Hello Ralph : ) I'm with you about as soon as the heat and humidity hit I'll be complaining about it too : ) Yes, my almost ghost fence tagging along the wooden fence ? it does leave a great shadow : )

Thanks EG : ) I wish and HOPE I am wrong about a late Spring .. have we been spoiled by other years being early ? I so want it to happen and HAPPEN NOW !!! LOL

I agree, methinks it'll be a long rainy, cold March...then Summer...how will I ever get all of my new gardens planted with all that humidity...hey, I'll deal, just bring it on, I'm ready!!!

Got freezing rain right now...whatever! There's still a sun out there, right???

Great shadow pic. That snow looks so peaceful.
Spring has sprung here. Lots of things blooming. Got "taters" in ground & planted several veggies. I plan to plant more tomorrow plus help ggs set out his cabbage that is a school project. He's the one that planted, took care of & harvested corn when he was 3 yrs old. He's a good helper. He's 9 now.

I was very curious as your blog slowly opened. Yours always opens gradually from the top down. Your newest banner looked like there were little green paws. I was wondering what the animal was going to be, thinking maybe tree frogs. I was surprised to see the ferns, no animal at all! It is a nice bright fern shot. I enjoy seeing what your background will be each season.

Snow always makes such a nice background for shadows. Patience, patience, spring will be here when it gets here. Mickie

Many shadow-seekers say,
“Oh, the one that got away!”
Why are you so uptight, folks?
Can’t you take light’s little jokes?

Dear Joy, certainly you can feel a little more optimistic about Spring, No? That's a great shot whether the shadows are cast upon snow or green grass. Hang in there.(And I hope you're wrong about the winter lingering on)

Peace

Sharon girl we can moan about Spring being late in unison ? LOL .. I think because we have so many plans and we want to accomplish so much it really drives us NUTS to think it will all be delayed .. we just have to hold on to what sanity is left from this winter and hang in there ? wink wink
We have the same scary weather coming too .. I feel sorry for people that have to be on the road when that is going on, fingers crossed maybe it is a false alarm ?

Lola girl I am totally jealous ;-) It will take ages for me to catch up to you but when we do start ? it goes off with a BANG LOL
You have a great little helper there .. number one son intervened for a "lambs ear" plant one season because he thought the texture of the leaves was "cool" so forever more I will have Lambs Ear in my garden ? LOL

Thank you Alissa !! : )

Bev thank you and I so hope you are right .. Spring break seems to be our "ground hog" day ??LOL

Thank you nellie ! I have been playing with it too much probably but you know how something just sticks with you once you start swapping blog accents/templates out .. and it is so NOT Spring out there so I thought I would try something different .. glad to know it displays well .. thank you for letting me know !

Mickie thank you : ) yes .. Spring is like us women ? we will be there when we get there ? LOL

Jeniffer .. I so hope I am wrong .. but my gut feeling is that is what will happen .. hardly any Spring and then ? BANG heat and humidity time .. lets hope NOT though ??;-)

MMT .. now aren't you just too cute? LOL .. I like that ditty and how true it is ! more of the white stuff has been falling this morning .. BIG sigh ;-)

Dear Joe
I so hope I am wrong about a late Spring too .. I was watching a gorgeous documentary about mexico last night .. I fell in love with such beautiful landscapes and colourful people and yes .. the Monarch resting/hibernation station was awesome .. oh to have a few in my garden this year .. bribery of many favorite plants for them??LOL

I get the exact same feeling. Looks like it's going to be a long slow spring with lots to melt off. Looking forward to muddy season.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hi there Marguerite .. oh yes .. the rain is coming for us then back to snow .. and eventually muddy will makes its appearance .. all for the love of SPRING !!
Too far away still for me ;-)

It looks like the snow is almost gone. I sure hope there won't be any more. Spring, hurry up!

Reading your blog & comments have helped my sadness. I lost my DH brother yesterday after his nephews wedding & my DH's dau's BD. Bad weekend.

Grace girl ! .. it is RAINING here today .. very dark and dismal but the positive part is that the rain is washing away snow so how can I complain about THAT !!

Dear Lola
I am so very sorry for your loss.
It must have been a shock to you and your family, after such a happy occassion .. there is no easy way to deal with such a sad impact .. my thoughts are with you.
Take care of yourself.
