The object of his desire and other strange things ?

Sounds like a racy novel right ? .. I just couldn't resist it .. and I will confess that my Robinator is the most photographed robin in the province of Ontario ... maybe even Canada ? The point of this all is the fact that some unusual things are happening this year. The first year I did not get my Sumac pollard cut as of yet .. normally it would have been done well past now .. but the good part is, it is providing the birds with food with this long stretch of winter we seem to be having .. so these "fruit' are a good thing for the birds ... especially the Robinator ?
I swear he poses for me .. some what a little Napoleon Bonaparte style ? he just needs to tuck his wing into his chest a little more ?

I don't think he likes me taking pictures of him eating and with the evidence clearly showing on the end of his beek ?
The moon this morning was turned at an angle and too far away for detail pictures but it was pretty, peeking through my maple tree.
You can almost see some detail here ..
YES !!! we are going to break into a heat wave tomorrow ... for the next two days it will reach 7 !!!!!!! degrees and be sunny ... I am a happy gardener even though I will be working myself into major aches and pains the garden will be ready for that tremendous SPRING INTO LIFE : )
Now for the strange and unusual ... but that is just me anyways ?
You have to click on these pictures to see as much of it as possible .. I have never seen one like this under clear circumstances ... a pillar rainbow out of no where .. no precipitation what so ever .. although I know they form from water crystals and light reflection/refraction etc ...
It is such a delicate moment in time .. I was mesmerized by it ... a sign of good luck ?

Now that would be wonderful : )
Last little glimpse ....

That's a fat Robin! I believe your rainbow is a sign that the mercury on your themometer is going to go up!

It makes me so happy to see your fluffed up little robin - he is so cute!!

As for the pillar rainbow, we call them sundogs out here and they usually only show up when it is really cold. Maybe they are a sign of Old Man Winter throwing up the white flag? Let's hope! lol

I'm think 'n the Robinator is about the most photogenic bird I've seen! He looks like he's waiting for you to "Oh, get my good side.". I can't believe your that cold! Try to stay warm it's been a really weird year so far for everyone.

Hi there Darla girl .. he isn't fat ;-) he is big boned ? haha .. no, actually he is "fluffed up"because it keeps him warmer against the wind .. it is amazing how many little tricks birds use to stay the right temperature !
Yes !! today and tomorrow are perfect days for working in the garden .. even husband is volunteering : )

Ms S girl : ) Isn't he a cutie ! I think he adores his little kingdom here too haha !
I think it was a sign that finally we are going to start shifting to Spring ... this has been one long wait .. I hope you are shifting too ?

Tessa girl isn't that the truth ! This was such a long wait for Spring like weather .. last year was a lot earlier .. but now I think we are on the right road finally ! He certainly is enjoying the photo shoots I think ? LOL

It is a good thing that you left the seedheads on your sumac. Robins don't eat seeds unless they can't find bug/worms their preferred food.

That looks like one happy robin with a mouth full of berries. I'm amazed at how he's posing for you. If only all the birds were so accomodating.

It has indeed been a strange Spring, even down here.

Hi there Lisa girl and yes ! I was glad to give the robins something to eat even if it was sort of a fluke because i normally would have had it pollard by now .. actually today it was because husband was able to do it for me .. but I ran into some worms while cleaning the soil up a bit so they should be able to find some now with rain for the next two days : )

Hi there Marguerite : ) I swear this guy loves having his picture taken ! He really does just sit there and let me photograph him, so I am lucky .. other wise the rest of the birds tell me to flock off ? hahaha

Oh my gosh Lola !! I hope nothing comes of the warning .. but even just being under a warning is stressful .. I'm afraid it is going to be that kind of a year .. believe it or not there have been tornadoes in Ontario .. not as destructive as further south as in your region .. but I can understand the fear .. fingers crossed all is well with you !

Hey, you're taking some really great bird shots. Not sure what's with the Robinator but that's ok.

Loved Nurse Jackie !
The writers and cast are so much better this year. Very interesting.

I saw a pillar rainbow a couple of months ago. I had never seen one before, wish I'd had my camera. I didn't know the birds ate the sumac berries. I don't have sumac in my yard but there are tons of them at my sons. I should bring home some of the berries and see if they'll eat them.

Hello Bonnie girl : )
I could not remember ever seeing one either and without rain or chancy weather.. so I was surprised .. it was faint but it was remarkable ! .. I was so late getting the Sumac cut this Spring but it was nice to see the birds eating the berries .. now that we are having rain they can reach the bugs and worms more easily too .. give it a whirl , close to where you can see if they eat them : )

Heat wave of 7 degrees! Wow you better put up the woolies and get out the polyester girl… that is one fat Robin and eating well. Don’t blame him for not wanting you watching while eating. On Sunday, I was at one of Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” Food Network place’s for lunch. A man waiting for a table kept staring at me. As if that was going to make me eat my lunch any faster. LOL I don’t linger when people are waiting for a table so stop looking at me mister! I wish I had the balls to say that to him. While we were waiting for a table, we stood outside so as to not bother anyone…

I don’t believe I have ever seen a rainbow such as this one you show! I vote for Lucky Day and I would be on the lookout for that pot of gold…

OMG Skeeter girl yo have made me laugh ! How true is that : ) people think they can stare at you and make you do their "will" LOL and I would never think that anyone could make you do anything !
I have seen that TV show and thought WOW ! some of those places are amazing : ) I would love to try them out too .. and I should have bought a lottery ticket that day darn it ! haha
