Yet again ......

Well .. what can I say ? "OOPS ! I did it again ? ...
This seems to be the year I am using up my garden budget money on plants that I have long lusted for ..
Here with known as "The Year of the PLANTS"!!

Green Envy was one I had lusted for ever since I stumbled on it through the net a few years ago. I actually ordered it from one of the "bad" mail order companies that I learned my lesson from .. the disappointment of not getting it after building up that excitement .. well, you know what that feels like (it is better if I don't literally describe that feeling for all of our sakes?)

So .. Botanus, from the west coast of Canada .. even though it is not within my home province of Ontario .. I know they are a safe reputable company .. I did miss out on that rose .. "White Licorice" which I am kicking myself over .. but , here is Green Envy .. hum ? ... is that some kind of karma I wonder ??
First two pictures are from the net .. last picture is my own !
Moving on to something completely different for me .. a bearded iris .. I don't even like these types of iris (sorry to all the iris lovers out there) I like the Siberian form .. more of a "wild" like structure .. easy .. care free ?
BUT .. look at that amazing colour ! .. near black .. and very Halloweeny !! .. yes .. I just had to have it for that reminder .... I have a trick up my sleeve !

I am planting close to my JP Connell rose ... I think the foil of these two will be amazing : )
Soft buttery yellow against that deep violet purple blackish ? colour .. Now that is a show down of colour contrast if ever .. right ?

OK ... I swear I am DONE with ordering plants .. really ... I mean it ... DONE !! I will take pictures of each order and how it arrives along, with tearing my hair out trying to figure the exact perfect place for each one of the new garden babies ? eekkkkk !!

I laughed as I read this..the part about being finished now. I will say that, but I don't think I will ever be finished--I am so bad! And, I am hitting the garden centers today with "being bad" as my plan! hee/hee! Have a great weekend!

Seeing all of your purchases certainly has lit a fire of want for my garden. You have chosen some really nice plants.

Green Envy is just over the top gorgeous...and I love that Iris!! So, little Missy, you didn't take the 'stay off of the computer' advice for very long did ya? lol

It's so difficult isn't it? I really really really wanted to order so many plants this spring. Ornamental grasses, ferns, hostas, but I resisted and only seeds were ordered. I haven't got a single bed to put all those plants in and I had to give myself a stern talking to. Work on the beds this year, order plants next year. But I know, and you probably do too!, there will be spring plant sales coming up and those will be next to impossible to resist...

It's an absolute joy to see all these magnificent new flowers. :)))

there are certainly worse things to be addicted to. I think your love for plants is to be celebrated; you are in love, the wildlife is in love and I for one feel better for a visit to your colourful and interesting garden. Plus I adore your header - nice wee irish touch there xxxxx

Linda : )we gardeners are never finished .. just slowed down by some of the seasons .. like WINTER !! so what do I do to get over the hump ? buy fabulous plants on line .. and feel a wee bit guilty, but not enough to STOP?!! haha Post on what you find in the garden centers ????
;-)

Lisa girl I did think before I punched buttons .. I swear !! and it is amazing just how quickly stock is sold out .. I was shocked, so I am happy to have the ones I want on reserve ! thanks !

Darla .. I wanted Green Envy for years !! the iris is a fluke because it is so dark (chocolate garden ?? LOL)and that advice you gave me about "step away from the computer" it just won't stick to me! hehehehe

Marguerite hello there : )
How true is that !! I need to work in some good compost etc ... into the beds .. let alone cut a clittle more out and here I am loading up on plants and knowing full well that when the garden centers open .. they may be a few more I can not resist .. resistance is futile right ??? LOL

Kate girl I so enjoyed your pictures from Italy !! I dropped in again and saw the masks for carnivale and they are gorgeous .. yes .. the plant addict (hey , I should have called my blog that !!) is at it again ?? LOL

Carrie girl I have meant to do an e-mail up for you .. asking if you got my picture ? and checking up on your little Eden garden at home .. it is coming along isn't it! I can see in my mind's eye it will be perfection for you three: )

Wow, love the 'Green Envy', Joy. I can't blame you for ordering it. Gardeners are never finished; we simply 'pause' to take a breath...LOL... Hey, you only live once, so enjoy the opportunity to grow all these lovely plants. Your neighbours will be 'green with envy' over your new plants. He he...couldn't help myself; had to throw that in :)

Joy, I was actually able to go out and clean up a little in the garden. I hope my new phlox made it, just sticks now.

I love that dark iris.

Okay...I have to have that Echinacea! Looks like Spring Hill Nursery has them- but they don't look the same. I'll just have to add it to my wish list.

Eileen girl you have me so jealous!! .. we are still locked intoo much snow for me to even think of a tidy up yet .. BUT .. better weather is coming so I am trying to hold onto my sanity ? LOL
That iris is more of an intense navy/violet colour .. and like I said I'm not a fan of beared iris but that colour !! got me !!

Tessa girl I just wrote a quick e-mail to you about how sometimes Grren Jewel will be mixed up with Green Envy .. so I sent a couple of links so you could see the difference ! I know yo will love it too though : )

Grab another bolly and perhaps smoke a bit of..... 'DONE'... what the hell is that supposed to mean? You might be able to fool the rest but not your beloved Pats!

Green Envy is delightful but keep an eye out for reversions! That Iris.... right up your Holloweeny [hollow weeny.... get it Eddie! LOL!] obsessed mindset!

Pats!

LOL Pats Sweetie .. I love that you have "caught" me in that web of self delusion "done??" you are too right .. I will be haunting the garden centers here , curious as hell to what Lowes will bring in and could there possibly TRUE competition with above the normal garden plant stock here ?
The mind boggles and lets face it .. my mind hasn't far to go !
Yes .. the reversion thing .. I have that in the back of my garden mind watching for that .. I had a few of my Sparkler echinacea do that but cut them rightout and ordered it back in shape .. and bearded iris ? me? eeuuwww!! BUT that colour had me what can I say?
I am still HAUNTED by White Licorice weeks rose .. I actually wrote an e-mail to the American distributor (my spell check ran away from home if you haven't already seen the consequences) any ways ... I still want that rose SO MUCH !!
Very funny Pats .. "hollow -weeny" ! stop fooling around and get your A** in gear you should be chasing your tail you are so busy by now ? hehehe .. BEHAVE!! and put that ciggy out !

That Midnight Oil Iris is gorgeous. I might have to find some of those for my garden. They would look great against our white house.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hi Brandi YES !! Midnight Oil would look amazing against a white house .. it is a tru black but it is very dark from its picture .. I love that kind of a contrast that makes the plants and structures just pop out at you like that : )
