Shadow Shot Time

A very simple shot of my Bonsai, Austrian Pine in a pot .. aka my "Charlie Brown Christmas tree .. I love the rough texture of the trunk .. the fine green needles .. and how it looks with the afternoon sun. I think it is a perfect subject ! Mean while back at the farm ... you might want to check up on what my fellow shadow shooters are freezing in that moment in time for them ! Tracy at Hey Harriet manages to tame us all to form a very savvy group of discerning shadow officiants by some miracle ! wink wink ;-)

Good morning Joy, it's a lovely sunny day here, so expect it is the same for you. I like your Charlie Brown Christmas tree shadow shot. Your new blog background is lovely too. Have a great weekend.

C. Brown had the right idea about Christmas - it needed to be simple, to realize the Christmas story. Not commercial. I love his tree, and I have the same affection for yours. Simple always gives us the most beauty!

I love bonsai trees, when I lived in Florida, one of my favorite things to do was to visit the bonsai nurseries on the coast...so expensive though, but fun to imagine owning some of the delicate beauties. Always wanted to take a course...yeah right, in my spare time!!!

67 degrees right now here in Iowa, hope it's nice tomorrow on my only day off...hope you're catching some rays too!!!

Great photo, for a second it looked like a tropical plant with all that scaly bark.

That's beautiful! The lighting is just perfect. I like that it's called a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. I can imagine Snoopy dancing around it Christmas morning! Nice to see some sunshine in your neck of the woods. It may have inspired you to dance around the tree with joy :D

Have yourself a super week ahead!

Hello Lisa girl and thank you .. this meme has really stuck with me in looking for shadows all the time ! : )

Hello Linda .. we had a back and forth day with sun and clouds but today (Sunday) is supposed to be an all sun all day today .. I wonder if I will get any work done?
Enjoy your garden too !

Debbie girl ! how are ya' : ) I have to get over to your place and see what you have been up to !!

Ralph you are so right about it being the best when it is kept simple .. I have always looked at this little tree, as THAT Charlie Brown tree and it is nice to know you think of it that way too : ) thanks !

Hello there Sharon girl : ) YES ! Bonsai is such an intensely beautiful art form with tiny trees shaped so amazingly .. I don't have the patience or the right zen ? to create those beauties but we can appreciate them right ? hey I think Spring might just be here ? Go get some natural vit D girl !!!

Thanks EG : ) it was just the right moment in time sort of deal and that is why I have my camera here to catch what I can !! LOL

Hi Marguerite : ) It can be deceiving when you first see it .. more dark hues and low light make it seem as an "almost" other plant?

Thank you Mickie : )

Tracy girl thank you and I had such a hoot looking at your "fly-guy" in different poses .. way too funny !! I may have to do the happy dance around the tree soon: )

That is a wonderful close up photo of the tree trunk texture and the needles. Glad you are getting out in the garden some, we're still waiting. It's mud season right now. A walk in the yard would yield nothing but a thick mat of mud. I hate to have to take off my shoes in the garage! Happy gardening to you.
(I looked at the post before this one and i see you a lot going on! Would love to see it all colorful in Summer)

Peace

Great shadow-shot, Joy Dear. It gives the illusion of summer, at least to me anyway. Wishful thinking maybe. :)

Hello there Joe : ) I was just over at your place looking eye to eye with that street light ;-)
We will dabble in mud season still here too .. many days of rain fore casted this week but it will refresh and warm the earth, so it can smile again .. I had a great morning communing with earth and sheep manure .. not too many people would think that is a gift but other gardeners and nature lovers "get it" LOL .. I will be posting pictures constantly to the point of "please no more" of my garden as it comes to life .. wait for it ? haha
Have a great what is left of the weekend : )

Grace girl I owe you a chat .. I have managed to wear myself out with either garden exploits or change of weather headaches and then there is the one about waiting for the reno ? haha
Spring is trying very hard to break into a sweat here : )

Hello Chubskulit and thank you : ) Have a great time with the kids this weekend : )
