The Shadow Shot & Other Mysteries

This is my subtle shadow shot for the weekend .. I love "Little Lamb" hydrangea because it was my first and those perfect tiny white flowers that combine to make the whole are beautiful: )
Is there anything more perfect than "white" and shadow ?
As for the other mysteries .. there was an amazing sun rise yesterday .. not so much for the colourful beauty aspect but for the drifting transparent clouds ... they revealed the sun's true shape .. so perfectly round it is amazing !
Granted there were moments of colour in a blurred way.
It looks so tiny here .. hard to imagine how truly powerful it is and that we are at its mercy ?
I zoomed in as far as I could ....
It looks like the moon instead of the sun .. doesn't it ?
Again .. the size is misleading ?
... and all of this drama happens in one very small space of my view .. I am very lucky indeed !
Don't forget to visit Tracy at Hey Harriet to see many more beautiful shadow shots : )

You captured the spirit of your favorite hydrangea in this shadow shot. Beautiful.

The sun is amazing and is set off quite well in these cloudy shots.

What a stunning way to show off your little lamb!! I can't believe how much further along yours is, mine only has tiny green buds. Waiting, waiting, waiting....:)

Beautiful shots! I have not mastered the art of night shots yet. Cute posts of the kitties. My one sleeps on her back like that- so very very funny how they do that. What a state of relaxation!!!

The shadow shot of the hydrangea is gorgeous!

A monochrome moment is the shadow falling upon the white hydrangea is what I see - artistry in your garden!

We have been conditioned to think that darker clouds in the sky are not good - the varying shades of gray upon daylight are wonderful! Actually, a different hue or two (or three) are nestled in the heavens above. It is a glorious day, the look as if an artist 'painted' these views. Lovely!

Love the photo of the Little Lamb. I bought one of these last year and just transplanted it to a new bed this year so I've yet to enjoy the flowers. Nice to know what I'm looking forward to.

Subtle shadows are enticing!

COMPADRES

Shadows above me,
Shadows below;
Some shadows swift and
Some shadows slow;
All of these shadows,
It’s plain to see,
Are my compadres—
Sweet company!

These sun shots are beautiful! And it does look moonish, (is that a word?) I was out and took photos that morning as well. The sky was amazing here too, and in spite of a bright sun on the way that early AM, I found the moon above a tree.
Good stuff here. You are correct, the subtle shadow on white is magnificent.

Peace

Love the white flower - never have grown one. It certainly does make lovely shadows!
The skies are gorgeous - Iknow I could take shots all day when the sky is so dramatic.

Hi Joy, Great shot of the sun. Kinda mysterious looking! :)

Love the "little lamb". I have one and it is just coming into bloom. My third year with it and I am smitten. What a low maintenance, hard working cutie pie it is. Yours looks great!

I would like to be a follower of your blog but don't see a place to sign up. What part of Canada are you from?

Hello Darla girl ;-) and thank you very much !! The sky will get even more dramatic as we start our way too Autumn .. can't wait !

Lisa girl thank you : )
It was an eerie morning and I just couldn't stop taking pictures .. you know how that can get eh ? LOL

Rebecca girl hello there : ) and thank you so much! We have had extreme weather and it is forcing the plants forward faster .. I have so many things to do in the garden it is crazy .. but I am waiting for cooler weather. It will happen girl .. just hang on ! haha

Thanks for dropping by kacky and YES ! Emma is the first cat that we have had that LOVES sleeping on her back .. Sophie looks at her like she is bonkers at times .. they can be so funny but it takes cat people to appreciate their humour ?LOL

Hello Patricia and thank you very much ! It was just one of those times that conditions were perfect:-)

My goodness Ralph you are going to have my head way too big for these shoulders : ) but yes .. it just went all together perfectly for these shots .. the sky is my fascination factor .. I watch it all the time and see so much from it .. I feel sorry for people that only look up to see what the weather is like .. they miss so much!

Marguerite thank you : ) Little Lamb was a perfect hydrangea to start out with .. such an easy care one and totally beautiful .. I am trying to remember to cut some flowers to dry .. I did one year and they were amazing : )

Hey Kay ! Thanks girl .. yup the white in dark really shows up the tiny flowers that make up the whole head of the flower with this one .. it is a keeper ! haha

Lona girl ! thanks : ) all the right factors fell into place ? LOL

Ms Becky : ) thank you so much!
Yup, there is an eerie factor to the sky shots .. you see so much more in the picture than with your eyes .. so I have to trust my camera that it is picking more up than I know ? haha

EG girl .. believe it or not this is the sun ! although it looks like the moon .. the clouds veiled it just enough to disguise it ;-)

MMT thank you and that poem is perfect !

Thanks Joe : ) and yes some mornings the moon hangs around just long enough for me to spot it .. morning moons are easier to shoot than evening ones .. the sky has been interesting but i can't wait for Autumn when it really puts on a show !

Thank you Beverly girl : )
I am in that club as well .. if the sky has something to "say" to me ? I am glued to it with my camera : )

Hi Stef and thank you : ) happy SSSunday back at you girl !

Ms S thank you girl .. and if I had the room I would have a drift of LL hydrangea : ) they truly are so a carefree wonderful flowering shrub!

Hello Jenny I should have told you what part I am from when I left a comment on your blog .. I better go back and tell you ? LOL

Thank you Tatjana I was totally taken by your shot and your header shot is amazing .. I love the black as a background for shots and yours are beautiful!

Beth girl thank you so much ! I am totally in love with that kitty shot .. so content and beautiful .. it should be printed and framed : )

Grace girl thank you : ) It is hot and humid here yet again .. the glass of the deck doors were fogged up this morning (trapped by the vertical blinds) so you have to know it is going to be a HOT day out there .. I am hiding in here ?LOL

Joy, I don't know how you get those great sky photos. I had better get out my big telephoto lens and see if I can even do this. I am spending way too much time taking photos of flowers.

Eileen girl .. my garden is not doing as well as last year so sky photos are my luxury right now .. I have had this camera for about 4 years now and still eye the SLR digital ones .. some day !! LOL
I am lucky to have a view of the eastern sky .. I wish I could have one of the west but I grab what I can!
