Shadow Shot Time

The miscanthus "Morning Light" throws a shadow literally over these little flowers .. I think they have an "on and off" relationship ? .... and now for something completely different .. more of a subtle category for shadows and light.
If you have seen the movie "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" during the conversation when the character artist, Johannes Vermeer and the maid discuss the subtle colours of clouds .. she came to realize how truly complex the make up of colours in the clouds were .. well these clouds I saw the other day reminded me of that .. what we think of as simple . most times they are far more detailed.
Click on them to see all the different shades of light and colour.
To truly experience more shadows and varieties of how shadow shooters capture their subjects you have to visit Tracy's blog "Hey Harriet" .. and stop to say hello to her !

Those clouds speak DRAMA to me. They're amazing. Love the soft salmon colored flowers too. Very good capture.

Beautiful-the flowers and the clouds.

The miscanthus are lovely, and we still have a few more warmer days to look for flowers and shadows. We need some warm weather flora for at least a little more...

The blue sky is beautiful yet can be monotonous. Happily, the billowy clouds arrived just in time for the intrepid shadow chaser. The subtleties of color is amazing, and the moisture in the clouds combines well with the sun. It is as if each cloud at any given moment has the moisture laden prisms changing the hue constantly. A great sky!

The little flowers seem to be perfectly willing to invite shadows into their hearts, because they have a lot of light to spare!

FOR LOVE OF SHADOW

Tell your shadow that you love her,
Spurn your shadow, if you dare.
Keep your shadow out of darkness,
Keep her in the sun’s harsh glare!

I love the first photo. It is beautiful. But the cloud photos really made me think. And they are also beautiful.
What a great post for SSS.

Grace girl thank you ! More people should take the time to look up and really SEE what is there ? LOL
I love watching the sky .. it never stays the same for very long!

Thank you Sylvia : )I think we should form a blog group "Sisterhood of the Sky" ? LOL
Promoting sky watching as a salve for every day problems ? wink wink

Thank you Karen girl .. I stumbled on your wolf pictures and those were amazing ! You must have been thrilled to get those pictures .. not too many of us will have that chance .. thank goodness Ontario is such a huge province and can offer so many different escapes?

Thank you Sarah .. your shadows were VERY vivid indeed and I am with you about the "building" must go after the event .. retain the common "good" ? LOL

your post reminds me of this song my joni mitchell.
Bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere, i've looked at cloud that way.
But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things i would have done but clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions i recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

great photos/post.
