Shadow Shot Time

Shadows and "diamonds" made of frost graced these stairs.
I really like the simplistic and subtle look of the wood enveloped in morning frost ..
 Like delicate wrapping paper ?
This is a Shadow Shot for the meme Tracy from Hey Harriet has created for us to both contribute and learn so much from .. once you have started something like this .. you never look at light and shadow the same way again : )
So please visit Hey Harriet and see the beautiful play of shadow teasing light !

The bare trees allow the cold northerly winds blowing through the leafless timber. Yet, the long sun allows for artful shadows falling all about, and indeed, like a wrapping of shadow on the patio. So nice!

Frosted stairs are lovely to look at, but not so lovely to try to walk on!

EVERYWHERE SHADOWS

Shadows above and shadows below,
Shadows that blaze and shadows that glow;
Shadows outside and shadows indoors,
Shadows on trees and shadows on floors;
Everywhere shadows calling my name,
Everywhere shadows no one can tame.

Seems I remember the frost on the wood. It is divine. Only place I can see it here is on the picnic table. Signnnnn.

When I was at work today, I had my camera. And when I was shooting, I saw some interesting shadowing, and guess who I thought of? It is funny how someone pops in your mind seemingly out of nowhere. You have the most interesting shadows all the time.

I love frosty shadow shots too. And I totally agree being part of SSS makes you look at the world with with its lights and shadows in a completely different way.
How cool is that?
Great capture of your chilly morning.
Cheers,
Leah

Hi Joy, Frost crystals are always magic. Too bad they aren't real diamonds. A simple trip to the garden might make you rich!
We have had a few mornings of frost here, but generally the mild weather continues. I keep hearing stories that we are due to have a miserable winter, but it is hard to believe based on November's warm weather.

here in the mountains of arizona we are covered in snow! since the garden is sleeping..i will jump to the next subject close to my heart, cats. tell me please about sophie.
her markings are so lovely!

in the depth of winter we take out all the seed catalogs and dream!

hope you are warm with a cat or two in your lap.

Hello Leah girl and thank you !
It really does open our eyes a lot widder when looking at subjects with light and shadows .. I am so glad I keep learning all the time like this : )

Jennifer girl I can't believe you have such an adorable little pup with you ! he is too sweet and those pictures you have of him are just perfect ! I worry about what kind of winter we are going to have too .. miserable seems to be the norm for them lately !

Hello Rebecca girl : )
We do need these months to rest up for the next garden season right ? LOL .. I sent you an e-mail including Sophie's mix .. she is an unusual cat but when I first put her picture up I had responses from other cat owners with almost an identical look .. so she is a typ of hybrid I am thinking ;-)
yes .. a cat or two is true : )
