Shadow Shot Time

This "shadow shot picture" was taken quite a few days ago when the sun knew where we were .. and smiled on us. I can't count how many dark gray days we have been stuck in now.
I love the soft afternoon light that gently kisses this side of the deck and all "who" reside on it.
One exciting thing that happened this past crazy weather week .. was that the chickadees finally figured out that they could get inside the ball cage feeder .. it was a hoot to see how fast they go in and out, one seed at a time !

What a great, snowy shadow shot! I do love those shadows on the snow! They almost make me forget how cold it is!! Enjoy your weekend!

Now that's a wintry shot! The goldfinches (still sporting their winter clothes) are out in full force at my house, absolutely swarming my feeders.

Snow always falls, so we can always appreciate it as a canvas for shadows if nothing else. We are content in knowing that an additional 2-3 minutes of daylight is happening each day, so we can dream of no snow and lots of sun - not too far away! Of course that is easy to say in January...

Beautiful little spots of sunshine. Shadows are a nice contrast. Yay for the Chickadee.

It has been a few dull days hasn't it. There was the ice rain yesterday and now snow today. I love your new header photo.

So you can leave that poor little evergreen in a pot all winter long? And it doesn't die? Poor little baby, LOL.

Hi Joy! Remember me? LOL. It's been awhile since I visited, but what beauty greeted me when I did. Fabulous photography! I love the sepia one and all the shadow pics. Hope you're keeping warm up there. It's been a weird winter, hasn't it! *hugs*

Joy, you were asking how I make my headers. I use Picasa (for Mac) to create the collage images. You can download it for free. I used to use Photoshop all the time but don't have a compatible version for the iMac. Glad you added a Canadian blog roll. I've had one for ages and have a page dedicated to it called Canada Blog Hop. I also keep some of my most favourites at the bottom of my blog, one for Ontario, one for Canada and one for the rest of the world. Wow a robin, that is early. Perhaps the poor little guy got blown in with the snow storm today. That is great the chickadees figured out your new feeder. I was contemplating one like that.

So many interesting shadow lines and shapes but the segments of light add a beautiful sense of hope! Lovely atmosphere in this wintry world!

Ohhh, I bet that was fun watching!
It's always amazing to me how all the plants come back so beautifully after a winter covered in snow.

This has been a wonky week for weather hasn't it? We saw sun for an hour today and it was delightful, even though it was so short lived. Glad to see you found some sunshine for your photos.

I'm also a fan of shadow photography - I see potential pics everywhere I go. Snow just adds to the effect - it's the one thing it's good for!
