Shadow Shot Time !

A very subtle shadow shot today .. this morning is in shades of gray with just enough sun to capture a fading glimpse of a shadow from the deck rails .. but it also illustrates cat prints from a visiting feline in search of my girls .. an unrequited love looking for company ?

On that theme I thought two shots this past week might follow the route of full moon wanderings .. seeking company of lovers in the animal kingdom ?
In transition of light to a darker sky that amplifies the glow of this mysterious celestial body we love to watch .. is there anyone that doesn't take notice of this beauty ?
Perhaps this "glow" was the messenger of the snow that swept in yesterday afternoon .. just as I finished cleaning up the hellebore bed .. from no snow, to a white sheet on the ground in practically minutes ? BIG sigh !!

Love those secret traces of a secret being! And beautiful soft shadow lines grace the snow! And the moon shots are simply wonderful!

Lovely shots of the moon! Fortunately for me, cloud cover obscured it much of the past few nights around here. Its bright reflection often disrupts my sleep. I like the dark. :)

Those tomcats are so romantic, aren't they?? The moon sits like a silver orb in the late winter sky - a simple view that is stunningly beautiful. Spring and the lack of snow are not too far away...

Oh, it does look cold! Great shadow shot considering the circumstances!! Love your moons! They're awesome! Enjoy your weekend! Stay warm!

I knew you would have some awesome moon pictures. My camera doesn't do dark pictures. So when the moon came up it was to dark outside. The day before the full moon though it was so big! I didn't take my camera to work so I missed the first shots. I got it when it was up in the sky. I wish I had gotten a picture of that first rising moon. Happy Weekend!!(-:

Cool! The full moon brings out the lover in cats as well as humans I see. Do your girls sit in the window and cry?? Happy SSS.

Oh Joy, that's not a cat, that's a RACCOON, LOL.

Love your comment, and yes the little bleep bleeps are bad down on the coast, and I think that they are not rare up here at all. Thought for sure that I found prints in the snow, coming down a tree, and walking off, and no prints going up the tree.

Hmmmm.....

Oh, my goodness....your moon shots are drop dead gorgeous. They are so beautiful. I am still trying to learn to shoot moon shots, but up to this time I am still a total failure. It is apparent you have that magic touch. Like you touch of snow with the kitty prints. All of your photos this week were lovely. genie

The moon.... gorgeous!

This snow will be gone shortly. That is one of the good things about March light.

The first night I shot this month's moon it was white. Since then, butter yellow!!

Nice subtle rail shadows. That moon looks bright enough to create shadows too.

That's awesome shots.

I too love your header. It really seems they love whether it's wet or dry, ain't they?

I love seeing foot prints in new fallen snow. Unrequitted cat love that you might not have ever known about otherwise! we see prints after the snow and realize what a busy place our yard is after hours.

We are headed for sixty-five degrees today so I am trying to forget snow. However, we could still get more than one blast of it.

There is just something about kittycat footprints that charms me. (Even though they are often across the hood of our vehicle!)

Hope you got some of the big melt on the weekend that we got here. Your hellebores will be sending out buds in no time. Spring is really, really almost here in the GWN! :):)

You are so freaking talented, Joy Girl. Not only do you take wonderful photos but...and I don't think I've ever mentioned this, you are an outstanding writer. Your prose on this post is as magical as your pictures. Love those little paw prints. I hope this is the final snowfall of the season.
