Shadow Shot Time

I am late with my Shadow Shot post .. I usually can nail it first thing in the morning.
I was out in the garden first thing in the morning though ..I did have a coffee to wake me up thankfully.
We haven't had a good rain in so long I seriously can NOT tell you when it happened last.
Yet I have friends in the UK and Scotland that have had constant rain and serious flooding.
None of us are blessed with a balance in the summer any more it seems.
My shot is a little muted with shadows not all that sharp and convincing .. but the fly did not charge me a modeling fee so at least that was a free bonus ?
The rose is White Licorice , and yes .. I know it is not white. It begins in a soft creamy yellow.
My head is all over the place today so I better wrap this up while most of it sounds half way sane?

Beautiful, shadowy view of this gorgeous rose!
And as for rain, I so wish I could pass on some of ours to you! We've had an incredible wet Winter on my peninsula! I barely know what it is to have a day of sunshine!

Whatever you grow and show on SSS, it is amazing. The flowering plant is happy to show its 'best' side to the photo artist, and rain or not, your garden truly shows off your labor of love!

I read your story tab today, and what is so nice here is that you are not a garden professional per se, but a person sho just enjoys and lives her gardening - a great pursuit!

Your yesterday post noted PEI - our daughter Allegra had been involved in the Anne series in the 1998-1999 time frame, and had read all of the LM Montgomery books, and we studied on Annes Land and the Confederation Bridge culminating in a 5th grade project that I truly unjoted in 99. Cool memories I have fron the mention of that maritime provonce. Too bad that it is an over 700 mile ride from here, I'd love to visit...

Your shadow shot is dreamy and it really highlights the beautiful rose. I also like your header shot. Happy SSS.

Joy,

You have so many unusual roses. I have not seen this one here but I am missing not having a white or pale yellow rose.

It's fierce this year with the weather. Good for shadow photos and flies! Little bits of spits this am - hopefully it will come down in buckets later on. I keep on staring at the same plants expecting them to look different at this time of year. My August treasures are blooming now - goodness knows what it will all look like come September.

Hello there Gemma and thank you : )
The weather every where is extreme it seems and what a pity to have so much rain when you don't need it like that .. can be depressing .. like not having any and watching plants shrivel up ! eeekkk !

Sylvia girl hello there, nope two comments showed up!
Thank you so much .. I keep trying to get the perfect pictures I used to get but I don't know my new camera well enough yet .. I will though ;-)

Robin girl I was blown away by that shot with the round wood boxes .. the lighting was perfect .. the grain jumped out to me .. it was as I said PERFECT !
Fingers crossed the weather gods will behave for us soon !

Dear Ralph
You are so sweet : ) thank you !
I smiled big time about the PEI and the "Anne" connection .. that is wonderful ! Yes it is a bit of a drive from here too ;-( too bad eh

Hello Rose and thank you !

Nadezda one of the reasons I bought this rose shrub is because it is supposed to smell like licorice and lemon .. but I think it has to mature a little first .. I can't wait !

Lisa girl thank you so much : )
I keep aiming for better and better! LOL

Eileen my favorite roses are white ones but they must have fragrance .. to have a beautiful rose is nice but with no fragrance would be a huge loss. This is a "Weeks" rose so I would get it if you can !

Barbara girl you are doing the same thing I am .. staring at my plants thinking they should look different some how! .. I got a great giggle with your shot over at Barry's blog, all grabbing the same pot. That must have been such a wonderful tour .. wish I could have been there too!

Bev girl you had some very sharp shadows today good job !
We are having a few spits but nothing real .. and we so need it.
This is one of the worst years yet!
