Friday : Red Sun Reversal ?

It was by pure luck that I caught a twinkle of the red sun this morning peeking out behind the ever encroaching neighborhood trees .. the ones that are cutting off my path to the sky sadly ....
The strange thing about the sun in these shots is that .. it was the SUN that was RED .. amazingly so.
BUT .. what ever the lenses in the camera see .. they cut right to the purity ? of the colour or non-colour I should say and cast the sun into a white glowing ball .. go figure ?

It has been a while since I have been able to catch the morning sun like this .. and my chances are dwindling with the trees beginning to block my sight line .. at least I will have pictures from over the years : )
We have had a bit of rain this morning .. hopefully MORE will grace our gardens PLEASE !!!

Beautiful sun shots. Red sky in the morning... Hopefully you will have more rain. We got some good rain last evening. More is needed though. I won't complain. It is wonderful that I didn't have to water before going to work this morning.

Rain? How wonderful to have some rain.

Great shots, oh queen of the skies.

Isn't it red sky in the morning, sailors take warning?

Hello Linda : ) The rain did not last long at all and now it is just windy cloudy weather .. fingers crossed maybe tonight ? but I wouldn't count on it of course ! ha ha

Lisa girl thank you .. we got about a 15 minute rain shower and that was it .. so I will be dragging the hose around tomorrow if I can finally get in the garden and truly get some work done !

Yup! I was thinking about that ditty too Jen .. but just a slight sprinkle so the hose will be coming out tomorrow .. BIG sigh ! ;-)

Great captures Joy! We are always up at dawn, but never get a chance to sit and watch the sun come up. Life whips by too quickly. Sometimes it is nice to pause and savour the moment in a series of photos.
P.S. Thank goodness for the rain we have had, eh! It is a little late, but the garden seems to have sprung back to life. Now, if we can just get some steady days of rain from here on in, I think the garden will be prepared to take the onslaught of another Canadian winter! Have a great weekend Joy!

Joy, how wonderful you can awake early morning, take your camera and you have the great pictures! I love the next to last photo, a small portion of the sun is seen through the clouds.

Thank you Jennifer girl : ) Yes , I know I am so very lucky to have to the time to capture this sequence .. it went by very quickly too !
I am actually gearing up to get in the garden and get some chores done and water .. we didn't have enough rain here and my Susans are shriveling (sad looking!) Perhaps we will have a rainy Autumn ? I won't complain because we NEED that rain for ground water .. have a wonderful weekend girl .. enjoy some garden time !

Thank you so much Nadezda !
It was wonderful to watch .. it just strikes me funny that what I see with my eyes and what the camera sees is different .. the sun was a glorious RED !

You know, there is a certain spooky Hallowe'en element at work here Joy! It would also make for a wonderful enlarged photo to adorn an empty wall somewhere in the house!

Hello Sweetie : )
It was amazing to watch .. but like I said the sun was actually red .. now that would be perfect .. I am not sure why the camera skips what I see and some how scientifically illustrates the true colour ? of the sun during this shoot .. still Halloweeny ;-)
