Landscaping Adventures

I thought I would start out with a pretty poppy picture I took in the garden yesterday.
We have a bumper crop this year but with all the rain you have to be FAST to see them while opened!

So .. landscaping .. this isn't about my gardens and plants ..
That is totally my department and I am very happy with what I have created .. so far .. so good !
It is about "hard scaping" .. such as the stone work we had done a couple of years ago with some of the raised beds.

This particular project we are looking at is for path ways from the front to side to back gardens.
It is a big project on it's own and even though I was looking for that focal point in the back garden.
We are going to have to split the two projects up between two years.
So the pathways are what we are going to budget and concentrate on for now.
I just sent a reply back to the landscaping company with the explanation and information.
Now I wait to see if my budget proposal is a "do - able" ? project  ......

This is the type of stone (Hemmingford) we are looking at .. my pathways will be narrower .. but it gives you an idea of the free style and opportunity to plant "step-ables" in between the slabs to soften the look.

Hi joy! I love your pretty Poppy header, so bright and cheerful. You're right, they do look like an alien life form before they bloom:) Joy, you have such a wonderful way of putting plants together. I haven't been able to do my usual visiting, so had to get caught up today. A few posts back you have several pictures of your gorgeous gardens. I really need to think more about texture. I always say that, then don't do it. But you have really paid attention to form and shape and color. I wish you lived next to me:)Love the pathway you're fixing to put in. It's going to be a beauty!
