Be careful what you wish for !

I have been under the wire for a bit .. just too many things happening at once and yet again I feel like that famous painting of the woman with both hands to her face SCREAMING ! .. Not a pretty picture at all!
OK .. I got that off my chest now I can complain about what I wished for and what happens when you get what you want.
# 1 .. I wished for a jam packed garden with all sorts of interesting plants .. including natives, and just about anything beneficial insects would love too ... makes me feel like doing the happy dance inside, so you can see I am easy to please .. which is funny since I am usually a cranky pants cow, as a British friend would put it.
So the day has come that my gardens have granted me "THE" wish ............. now I am screaming.
It may look like I have things under control in the pictures ... but OMG ... the work it takes just to keep a civilized look to it all is ginormous ... and of course throw an injury in there for good measure.
Are there other gardeners out there screaming too ? .. am I the only one that is overwhelmed ? ..
Yes I so wish I had gardening friends like Jen from Muddy Boots, living closer, so I could load her wheelbarrow up a few dozen times and she could have her wishes coming closer to fruition.
BTW thank you Jen for the mention girl .. I appreciate it !
OK .... second rant accomplished .. now just some pictures of the monsters under control for now ?
Thank god for rain days ... I am going back to bed !!

In the morning light ... soft , pretty, .... quietly harmless right ?
I did say jam packed right ?
A little vignette with my Tiger Eye Sumac and tiny dry stream bed .. Jen has a HUGE one in her front garden.
It is hard to imagine all the grass is going from the back garden .. stepping stones to be laid down .. this is supposed to make it easier for me and I SO HOPE IT WILL !!! .. but the grass is pretty when it isn't brown by next month as usual .. no more wasting water !
Golden Glow elderberry/sambucus with it's lacy leaves hides other treasures under it's "feathers"
When I say jam packed ... I really mean it !

I have an ongoing love affair with Golden Spirit smoke bush .. I lost one that I was training as a small tree and it really got to me ... the time and love invested with a favorite plant means a great deal to a hard core gardener ... but I have a new, albeit smaller version, that I will be pampering to see it be simply beautiful : )
Speaking of time invested .... 3 years I have waited for Midnight Oil bearded iris to flower .. funny thing is I don't even like bearded iris .. I just loved that black flower so I had to try and give it a go.
Thanks again to Robin, Life in Robin's Nest, who reminded me to brush off some soil to let it breath !
This is for Cindee (Cindee's Garden of Life)who loves owls as I do.
This little guy needs some repairs but hubby (PGA .. personal garden assistant) will do that for me.
It is a garden stake and too cute and corny .. you have to love that !
This is my "stop screaming" corner
Meditation Buddha always seem to calm things down when I look at him .. phew !
OK ... last picture (I have tried to catch up on all the time I have missed here and it is beginning to stress me out ? too much eeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkk !
Mean while for my dear daughter-in-law , Linda I totally love this cute blue mushroom and it is perfect in the garden .. next to my new ninebark .. couldn't get any better ! Thank you !
Done, Done .... stick that fork in me ... I am DONE !

That is how I feel too. Overwhelmed to say the least. I have a ton of work to do and no energy to do it or time. I am plugging along like a snail. I know I can do it when school is over which is this week. I just have to motivate myself.
I love the owl! That is real cute(-: Hope you got a much needed rest with the rain! I wish it would rain here!

Hello Cindee girl !
I wish it would rain for you too! This will only be one day and a big stretch without any afterwards but at least one day and the rain barrel is full. I loved this owl stake when I saw it I just knew I had to have it and it reminded me of you! LOL
We have a little owl club going eh ?
You will get to your garden, so don't stress out!

Oh I totally understand. I have a native woodland garden right by the street that at times I am ashamed of because it is so chaotic. My hubby loves it - what can you do?

Your garden looks gorgeous Joy. I've been overloaded as well ... first the gardens all need attention over the past few weeks and at the same time a kitchen renovation is happening ... down to the bare studs and back again. It's finally looking like a kitchen again with cabinets in and wall oven connected today. We actually had lasagna (thanks M&M) for dinner tonight.

Lovely jam packed garden- you make me wonder if I should temper my wishes- or just let them run! your garden looks fab!

Your garden looks so neat while being very lush. I don't know how you manage both effects simultaneously!

I am screaming on the other end of town, Joy, as I try to get all the garden chores completed! LOL...

It certainly is a lot of work, but my lord your garden is spectacular! So mature, lush, gorgeous. It's your own personal botanical gardens. It's tiring to upkeep, but considering our winters are so long, and often difficult, what in the world would we do without this temporary display of colour! We'd go stark raving mad. LOL!

I've been thinking about you a lot lately as I exhaust myself in the garden! I hope you're all doing well.

Patty girl I saw the phlox we share in your last post and it is so gorgeous covering that spot by the tree .. hey if hubby thinks it looks beautiful go with that flow and enjoy it without guilt !! LOL

Hello Angela and thank you!
I say let them run for a while and see where it leads you ..there is always the option of taming it again, that is what keeps me a bit sane at times ? ;-)

Alain you are so sweet thank you .. it is all done with smoke and mirrors actually .. wink wink

Martha girl I have been thinking of you too and how we live in the same little city yet we never seem to get together .. we are totally absorbed in our garden mode this time of year eh ? This year it has really struck me how much work there is to do and it just keeps coming .. winter drives us crazy but this period pushes us off the cliff ! LOL

Linda girl (thank you !) I missed you in the line up here .. distracted by garden thoughts at the same time! haha
Hey M&M's is one great resource to have especially while going through renovations .. glad you are almost back to a normal kitchen, I so know what that feeling is like ;-)
