Bursting at the Seams

The front garden is bursting at the seems .. but I still have some "editing" to do ...
I didn't catch the landscaping crew fast enough to request a band of vacant soil between the raised bed and the limestone pathway ... but maybe that is a good thing ... I can't plant more.
Although ? that band was meant for my daffodils ... BIG sigh !
The pathway is looking good but it also has editing to do , some stone is not quite right.
I couldn't let my vines on the arbor grow because it had to be straightened and secured in the ground properly ... still yet to come.
I love my ornamental grasses and some BIG ones to come ... literally BIG as in two "plugs" of
Giganteus Miscanthus  from Botanus in the Spring ... they have been quietly growing and making me smile BIG time ... I am going to have a "secret garden" entrance like a true secret garden jungle?

........ and one more ..... but of my original love, Karl Foerster .. feather reed grass .. a traditional beauty that looks great any where !
The golden seed heads look so beautiful when the sun shines on them.

Little Lamb hydrangea and Orange Velvet rose are trying to out do each other this year I think!

Time to take in my mirror ... all the fancy garden lights and ornaments ... time to put the garden beds to bed .. do the last plant swaps ... bulb planting .... time to just let go until next Spring.
Kind of sad .. but the rest is needed ... and I will have an almost unrecognizable garden with the limestone paths and new fences .. what I have hoped and planned for .. for so many years I can hardly believe it has happened !
Proves you can dream garden dreams and they might just come true  : )

The path is beautiful! It does not seem to need anything else.

It looks beautiful! I love all the beautiful flowers and the grasses(-: And your path!
And no more mowing next year either! Yay!!! Can't wait to see it all again! It does seem sad to say goodbye to all the flowers and plants though.

It is too bad that you didn't get the space for your daffodils. I have come to the point that, although I want more garden, I know I can't handle it properly. I like the Little Lamb hydrangea- that's one I don't have.

I have some bugbane, but mine is small. The fragrance is amazing isn't it?
Gosh the new path looks terrific in your header! The rocks may not be as close as you want, but the overall effect is terrific. Is that lamb's ears along the path in the header shot? It really looks nice there.

Hello Alain and thank you very much .. just some more tweaking to do .. I hate being OCD but it is what it is right?LOL

Elaine girl thank you .. but every day brings it closer to shut down phase for sure! The weather is all over the place eh?

Linda girl thank you and yes ! .. I was just out trying to snap a few pictures and it is cold with that wind .. soon the white stuff will be falling!

Thank you Cindee girl .. the last of the good stuff .. no lawn to worry about back there is a wonderful thing! .. Can't wait for next year now already!

Hello Martine ! Thank you very much .. yes it will be hard getting through the long Canadian winter waiting to see how everything will be with these changes.

Jennifer girl I will find some place to get those daffs in some how. Little Lamb was my very first hydrangea and I feel for it hard : )
The fragrance from the different bugbanes is amazing ... I have some that flower earlier and some later.I just cut a little lilac that smells like they used to smell when I was a girl .. absolutely wonderful!
Yes ... those are Lambs' Ears along the pathway .. I keep them trimmed back so they will be tidy!

Eileen girl that is my goal! a tight grouped garden is what I love too .. no room for weeds that way? LOL
