The Craziest "Garden" Picture I Have Taken ......

It is VERY cold out there ... -23 with a "feels like" -30 rating.
Thankfully it isn't windy or the windchill would be insane.
Speaking of insanity ... well, cabin fever is beginning to set in a bit .. I am actually thinking of "cleaning up" my picture files .. organizing ... thinking of what plants I might be able to squeeze in the garden ... now that makes me shiver with delight !
Chris from Canning Perennials is going to have her catalog on line by February.
That is my real Christmas time ! .. whether I buy a boat load of plants or not, I love cruising !

I was looking at some of my older pictures ... the changes through out the years with what my garden has gone through .. like a child growing up and becoming more mature ?
Nah .. I'm not as mature as I should be, so how can I ask that of my garden .. as in .. "to behave"?

OK .. so this is my craziest picture ..
July 10th  2010
These weird flies with the red eyes (almost a poet yet don't know it ? .... droll I know .. BIG sigh!)
I just happened upon it at the right time, right light, well all the factors were just right in other words.

Do you have crazy garden related pictures ?

This weird fly with red eye knew exactly where to fly! It chose the flower with red colors! I do have crazy pictures. It's time to clean my photo archive too!

That picture of the flie is very good. Do you have a method to organize your garden pictures? I wish I had one. As it is, I seem to waste a lot of time managing my pictures.

Funny flies, Joy! But flowers are wonderful:))
You're in strong frost, dear, take care.We had rain all the night to the Old New year, that's funny too.

Howdie! And, happy new year! I'm thinking I've got to do book-keeping this a.m., but will reward myself with some picture culling a little later. Started going through and five-staring pictures I think are the best - that way if I'm looking for good samples I can find them quickly. Also have a blank wall that is begging for something - might as well be something from my garden don't you think?

Hello Sue and thank you !

Tatyana, you are also a "poet" haha
I just read your post about your shade garden and the tree .. amazing !

Alain now I know what an alvar? is!
Photo management can be a pain .. but if you start out with general logical filing then sub files, that will help.

Elaine girl we have so much winter to get through yet .. big sigh .. but the thought of a nice Spring ? Now that keeps me going! haha

Linda girl .. -23 for the past couple of mornings is FRIGID indeed .. hard to believe we will be complaining of the heat in a few more months eh? LOL

Cindee girl .. the Princess is so darn cute sitting on that butterfly chair !.. ah yes, you would never survive here girl in these temps .. but then you have 100 degree plus over there .. I would never survive!LOL

Nadezda girl having rain during the old New Year where you are is strange isn't it ? .. but better that then what we are having I am thinking.
Enjoyed your post about new and old year traditions !

I am not sure I have ever noticed a fly with red eyes. I find the insects are more and more bizarre/creepy the closer you get!
I have given up on organizing my picture files. There are just too many. Instead I name the images by flower or subject. If I want a Peony picture I just do a search using the word "Peony". My Mac brings up all the images and I use the preview window to look through them. At the bottom of the window there is a notation with the location of the file. Handy and lazy at the same time. I love it!

Happy New Year Barb girl and YES !
I am a big believer in displaying our garden pictures in our offices!
I just saw your post of the trade show and I would love some of those products for sure !

Jennifer girl YES! .. the closer you see insects the creepier they are for sure! .. It sounds like you have a great filing system for your pictures so you are set .. I really have to cull the bad ones soon !

Any time I take a garden picture that doesn't suck I think, "Wow, that's crazy!" since I have no photography skills at all! I need a creative outlet, too. Bored with winter!

I thought I left a comment but maybe the computer ate it. I love your new header photo of your cat. :o) I think the red fly is a zombie fly. Grab a trowel and aim for the head.

Tammy girl I think I have gremlins in my blog some where .. I thought I had published a comment from you too and when I went to "answer" it was not there .. cue music from Twilight Zone!
Yup .. swatting flies as a sideline might just be the thing to do .. cue towel snap sound ! haha

January is doing her best to wear us down, but take heart, soon it will be spring...well maybe later then sooner. But just think of all the treadmill time you have now.

I love taking photos of crazy insects and other critters so your photo isn't all that crazy to me, Joy. Very interesting, yes! Now I want to know what kind of fly it is! :-)

Hi Jen girl .. Strangely enough January seems to be moving along quickly and yes .. all that treadmill time LOL !

Hello Christine girl ..Country Gal identified it as a "green bottle house fly" but wow on those red eyes eh ?
That year I seemed to take really good pictures from just a point and shoot Olympus .. I need to get back to taking GOOD detailed pictures !

Normally I don't like flies but you, my dear friend, actually made this one "pretty." Who'd a thunk? I hope the cabin fever doesn't drag you down too much. Thank God for the Internet, right?
