Virgin's Bower seed head

Again with these seed heads ! .. I am fascinated by them because they remind of cotton balls .. frozen in time . It took a while for this Virgin's Bower vine http://www.ct-botanical-society.org/galleries/clematisvirg.html to establish itself in competition with the Engleman Ivy. It was labeled as a "native" and very hardy once it got going. It has sweet little white flowers and does attract lots of activity .. so much some times it is a MISSION to get in the deck door before being flown in by the guests !
I realized as I wrote this up, that I have lots of vines and they all suit different aspects that I had in mind. There is always a little vertical space, even when I think I have gone over the top ! haha
This is a good little site I came across for a quick summation of vines. http://www.bachmans.com/tipsheets/Specialty_Gardening/VinesAnnualPer.cfm
