It's always a waiting game when we get to this time of year, isn't it? It got up to 46 today so I'm hoping to be rid of the snow soon.
Joy, You've reminded me that this was supposed to go on my plant wish list! I couldn't find any nice Jacks last fall, so I'm waiting for the spring stock at the garden center to add one to my shade garden. You have had an exciting day! Too bad Winthrop won't speak up and tell you what happened to your table top:) I do like the new passionflower vine. Buying seeds is contagious, isn't it?
That is a very pretty plant(-: I love blue! I can't wait till it blooms for you!(-:
Wow, that is a spectacular brunnera! Hope you see it soon. Happy almost-spring!
Brunnera one of my favorites... I split mine in the fall I sure hope it blooms this spring. I love BLUE flowers. Things are finally looking like spring will soon be here,FINALLY!!! I have 15 flats of flowers and vegies planted now. I NEED MORE LIGHTS!!! lol I sure wish I had a greenhouse.Have a good weekend..
That one is worth the wait Joy! I need one or two for my shady areas. :)
Cinj it can drive you crazy eh ? .. hard frost last night .. still COLD even with the sunshine .. I wouldn't mind some warmer days with rain to thaw the ground now ! Rose girl ! you have to have at least one "Jack" .. I am looking for more myself because the foliage is so good even when the flowers are finished !Winthrop is not over the shock as yet .. poor lad : )This will come as a baby vine (seeds and I just don't get along all that well) .. but I did break down and buy those sunflower and Cosmos seeds along with the vine plant .. couldn't help myself .. happens every darn year ! LOLCindee .. I will be SO waiting too! I just want to try this out to see if it is possible .. then I'll be satisfied ? ; )Hi Karen ..Jack is one beautiful Brunnera that I am still and will be in love with forever I think ! Almost Spring .. she is teasing us here ? LOLHi Lynn .. You NEED a greenhouse girl ! I can't imagine planting all of that ! I just do relatively small plant hunts .. my garden is really establishing and maturing now .. finally ? LOL Good luck with the babies : )Racquel .. YES !! you have to have some girl .. they are so gorgeous .. well worth the investment and time !!
Hi Joy, I know Jack won't disappoint you! Cold he likes, it's heat that bothers him, like our heat. No Jack's here, of that type anyway! :-)Frances
Just beautiful Joy!xoxo Tyra
Jack must be an excellent plant-soon he'll make an appearance.
Hi dear! Lovely photo and I do wish that spring would arrive for you...I love brunnera and think it might need more moisture during the summers then we have...what's do you think? Is Deck behaving? Keep an eye on him! gail
Beautiful photo. After a serious brush with spring last week, I'm getting impatient...not, not impatiens! Not with the recent snow anyway! LOL.
Oh, I remember a few years back I wanted this plant so bad! I can't remember why I didn't get it- probably budget. Since I really need to work on my beds this year- I took some time off from the beds for a couple years- I may try to locate a perfect spot for it...I love blue!
Frances .. my gosh ! that is too bad you can't have one there. he really is one gorgeous plant for flowers and foliage .. you can share mine ? LOLHi Tyra ! thank you : ) I think "he" thinks so too ! hahaHi Tina .. he really is one of the most awesome ones in the garden !Hey Gail Girl ! .. so far deck has not attempted a coup .. nails holding fast .. but when this project begins .. I expect extreme resistance to occur ! hahaMy Jack has put up with some dry yet humid heat with our weather in the summer .. so maybe he just loves me ? LOLAeri-el .. I am very impatient for Spring as well girl .. but no impatients on the horizon either for a very long time .. maybe even JUNE ? Yikes !!!Tessa .. people go GA GA for the blue poppy, and yes I did try for two years .. but these blue flowers from Jack are truly gorgeous in their own right too !!I think you should get one : )
It's closer than it has been.
A beautiful plant but I've had mine at least a couple of years and it has still to flower - a real waiting game :)
Hi Darla .. True !! but you know how we are in a rush for it after a long winter ? LOLAnna .. don't give up hope right ? .. Mine may too .. but just to get it through a couple of winters here .. would be my goal first ! LOL
I thought I'd lost my Jack Frost over the winter, but I see he's just beginning to poke his head above the soil :)So you got the Dr Who Xmas special last week! Did it feel kinda weird and time travelly to see it in March? So you've been to Bruges! It's lovely - is that where you got your taste for CHOCOLATE? LOL!
Oooh, is Jack a girl? 'cause his flowers sure are 'pretty'!! What a gorgeous shade of blue. You will have a lovely garden when HE shows up!
VP .. it was so weird seeing it meant for Xmas .. I felt I should have started singing Xmas carols for heaven sake !!And .. the funny thing about Brugge and the chocolate .. I was used to higher sugar lower fat content chocolate from Canada .. it was totally switched there in Brugge and I have all the extra poundage to prove it !! .. I just can't seem to get rid of it .. jeez !! but , it was so scrumptious how could I resist .. did you like the lace shops ? we saw a demonstration of lace being made .. I don't know how they could do it long term . I was dizzy very quickly ! LOLJan I was just out there now and so much needs to be done I'm screaming inside !!Yikes !!But hopefully by the time Jack is in his/her? splendor .. the work might be almost finished !
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I hope your wait will be over soon.
