Shadow Shot Time

So here it is Shadow Shot time again and we are into August !
Yesterday I spent 5 hours in the garden .. it has been neglected a lot because it is so darn HOT out there .. but ... by some saving grace it isn't in emergency shape and it all got a good full drink of water as I drug the hose all over to reach each and every plant I could.
Two shots .. the above is my favorite annual for the year in terra cotta .. my favorite type of container .. even it it drives me crazy going "dry to the bone" during summer.
The picture below is just to tickle your funny bone .. some people could "read" a joke in this and some people might not even see the funny side ?
I love these succulents and I am going to try and keep them alive in the house over the winter .. fingers crossed!
What you have to do now is go over to Hey Harriet where Tracy has all of us good little shadow shooters displaying our craft of catching shadows and light : )

Absolutely gorgeous shadow shot this week. A perfect scene set with the grasses lingering over that old stump and gravel.

Too funny, Joy! Great minds think alike... I spent a few hours in the garden yesterday, too. I had also neglected my garden (mostly because of the heat), and finally dragged myself outside yesterday morning. And like you, I was happy to find that it wasn't that bad. I gave everything a good soaking, staked some plants, removed dead buds and cleared some weeds (which there was very few of -- another pleasant surprise!). Let's hope the heat goes away and the days get nicer, cooler. Hope you're okay. I'll be sending you an email this week. Have a nice weekend.

Nice shadow shot of your terra cotta pots. I love the succulent pot. I can see why you are going to bring it in this winter. Good luck. I bet they will do just fine if you have a south facing window. Here I don't have a south facing window and my succulents usually become elongated during winter. They usually recover during summer.

The floral artist has a tough task, keeping the natural art fed and happy. Which you have done! All your plants are full of life, fed and watered as needed. And they appreciate it...Amazing and lovely views!

The name of that first one is right on the tip of my tongue, tantalizing me, but I can't quite reach it. Don't you just hate when that happens?
Aha, I knew it started with P, so I looked and looked until I found it. Portulaca, right? Whew.
Looks like your hen-and-chicks are providing you with plenty of entertainment this year.
