Secret Garden Vine

Not a great shot .. but I think you can get the idea of my experimenting with Engelmann Ivy which has the native Virgin's Bower entwined with it. Normally I would cut away the vines too close to the deck door .. but this is kind of neat ! .. it cools the area .. it is a noise dampener, and heaven knows we love QUIET ! .. it is like a secret garden entrance .. if you can stretch your imagination a little .. ok .. elastic bands snap back to reality but it is nice while it lasts ! The little common finches plus the flashy gold cousins love to fly into the green mass to hide out or catch a few bugs. My "girls" kitties love watching them .
