Black Lace Sambucus (Elderberry)

I haven't had much growth of this sambucus because the poor thing didn't know when I would yank him out again to try another "perfect" spot .. how can I blame the poor little guy for wincing every time I walked by ! .. so .. once the dust settles and he knows the no yanking rule is in affect .. he might just grow for me ! .. it is kind of neat having the leaves outlined in frost though ?
