The tucked in ferns

Another area looking like an unkempt disaster .. but ... there is a secret under all these leaves .. many ferns ! .. they do need a blanket for protection in the winter .. so this part doesn't tug at my tidy conscience as much .. I know they have a better chance of coming through the winter with the leaf coat on !
