I know .. not a garden subject ...

I know .. this is not a garden subject .. but it is a matter of the heart and that is part of who we are when we are gardeners.
A friend of mine sent me this book (I had no idea she was sending it) . It couldn't have been better timing .. I have been feeling rather low .. not only because of our constant winter weather .. but yet again, another girlfriend, had to put her ailing cat to sleep.
I have had three girlfriends, in the last two years, along with myself, who have had to go through this heart wrenching misery .. but we have all felt such a connection with each other that we found comfort from sharing this sorrow.
I so appreciate my friends, and I am only too happy when they find some solace in anything I can say or do for them during such sad times as well.
This book was such a nice surprise and I know it is going to be a treasure to read. Thank you Janet !

Marie !
I am stunned how much alike our cats are ! .. Sophie is Main Coon/ Siamese .. I left a message on your site where you told me to go to see your little one .. and left Catster address there for you too. There are others out there like ours and it is amazing !
Thanks for letting me know !

That was a very thoughtful gift.

I like when garden bloggers write about themselves too, not just their gardens.

So many of us can relate to losing a beloved pet. Sharing things close to our hearts and things going on in our lives besides our gardens helps me, who is new to blogging, get to know other bloggers, and others get to know me. So I'm glad you wrote a not-garden-subject post!

And Sophie is lovely! Her coloring and her eyes are gorgeous.

What a thoughtful friend you have there Joy. It is hard to let them go isn't it?

Sophie looks so sweet on her 'special' bed too. We used to like to think our previous long haired tabby had a bit of Maine Coon in her...

Joy,

I love my kitty, too. He is very entertaining.

Not too long ago we thought he might have kidney disease and prepared for the worse but it turned out that he just had a little infection. You know how relieved I felt.

Love the kitty ball photo...Do your cats have new sleeping spots every few weeks?

Hi VP
Yup .. friends are little jewels : ) There is not an obvious look of Main Coon in Sophie other than the Lynx Point .. but she is a big girl and still growing ! haha

Hi Gail
It really tears you up when they get sick .. especially cats .. they show so little sign of beingin distress until it is quite serious .. madame is fairly established in her beds throughout the house ! LOL

Sometimes a simple gift is more meaningful than most people imagine. They are always the best kind--meaningful, timely, and a complete surprise!
