I'm waiting to see ! ANEMONE SYLVESTRIS Snowdrop Windflower

Well .. I'm looking out the deck doors and it is SNOWING yet again .. heavy wet large snowflakes, that are supposed to change to all out rain .. I really hope so because that would bring hope of washing some of the icebergs down and at least partially away ?
This is one long winter that is making me crazier than usual .. it is called cabin fever, and no .. going to stores really doesn't cure it .. it is a stop gap .. as were my wonderful garden fixtures mission were pretty darn satisfying .. but on to some potentially gorgeous Spring plants I hope to see !
Anemone Sylvestris (Snowdrop Windflower) http://www.perennials.com/seeplant.html?item=1.040.350
I was amazed this little plant I bought at a garden center early on .. that was just nice healthy foliage I was happy with .. BLOOMED like mad ! You could spot it almost anywhere I stood in the back garden .. such a simple yet stunning flower was so affective and brought me such satisfaction ..
I can't wait to see this little beauty when the garden thaws and allows these little wonders to burst forth and hit my heart string again .. yes .. corny .. but hey .. them's the facts ! It DID !

It is very well behaved. I have a japanese anemone that romps way to much about the garden!

You will like that Anemone twice as much this spring. It's a pretty good spreader :)

I've been meaning to get some but that means I'd have to expand my pond garden even more than planned.

Hi Joy,

I'm waiting for these too. I planted some corms last Autumn, but I'm not sure if any of them are showing themselves yet.

I have this plant in my garden as well, and I love it just as you do!
As to snow - we haven't had any winter at all this year - except for right now...! Just before Easter it starts to snow and temperatures fall below zero... I can't believe it! /Katarina (Roses and stuff)

Sorry about your snow...we can see the sidewalk dry here today- the sun is doing it's work. It's Spring tomorrow!
I love your sea anemone, but how did you get it to survive out of the ocean?

The white flowers are so beautiful in the garden. Have you tried planting moon vine? Glows in the moonlight. So romantic.

It was snowing here too. I looked outside and saw these humongous snowflakes falling. I thought it would make an excellent topic to blog about. I went and grabbed my camera and wouldn't you know it? The battery was dead.

This has seemed to be an extra long winter this year, hasn't it? I was out in the garage earlier thinking about doing some spring cleaning but I have too much stuff and not enough space for it all so I decided to leave well enough alone. I don't want to have to start parking outside this early in the year!

Hi Cinj .. I laughed about the parking outside issue .. i see so many garages used for storage instead of the cars .. we don't have a garage and would love to park at least one "inside' some day ? haha

Hi Brenda .. I actually bought for pakages of Moonflower Vine seeds .. so YES ! I am really excited to see how it does and what it smells like : )

Hey neza .. if you puzzled about the anemone ... wait till you see Miss Wilmot's Ghost ! LOL .. Hopefully those are going to be an eye full too !

Hi Katrina .. we have had snow from the get go .. I think that is why it seems like such a long winter .. we had been spoiled for quite a few years without so much .. but then drought in the summer was bad .. I guess there is no happy medium any more ?

HA! I refused to buy a house up in this area without a garage. Call me lazy, but I just HATE to scrape my windows!!!!

Cinji ... twice this season I had to take my blow dryer out and warm up my door just to be able to open it from the freezing rain that LOCKED it .. then .. the scraping begun .. SIGH !

Many years ago when I first encountered these, I wasn't totally keen. But after having them in my garden I have totally fallen in love with them. Many reasons: they're early, they're white, they bloom profusely, they have such pretty leaves, and what a lovely shape they are too. Great to know you enjoy them also.

Hi Diane ! .. I absolutely loved these when just one plant bloomed so well .. I'm hoping it multiplied over the season and there will be loads more to appreciate !

What a great genus. I am struck by its beauty... the pure white simplicity - your center photo is particularly stunning... Deb

Hi Deb .. I just planted it last Spring and I was amazed at how beautiful it became with so many blooms .. I'm hoping it filled in and multiplied for this season : )
