Pretend Green Thumb Sunday?

I know .. the REAL "Greenthumb Sunday" crowd are going to wag their fingers at me !
I did try to join officially but I screwed up my blog .. had a couple of heart attacks .. banged my head on the table a few more times (due to lack of computer geek skills) then ran a muck with a few other details .. by then I figured, they do NOT want some one as menopausal as myself because I NEVER know what is going to happen to me or my lap top NEXT !

So .. I started my own "Pretend" club .. don't yell at me .. I tried to explain ? Big sigh .....
I love these little succulents .. I keep buying them .. and buying them .. and this should be enough ? even my camera doesn't want anything to do with me today ......

I can see why you keep buying anything green. I saw your outdoor photos :)

Hopefully spring isn't too far off. But then it's a whole new set of "I got to buy that" we'll be bringing home.

Hiya Diva queen, I love your little dish too. Can I help you in anyway sort out how to join GTS?

Hi Wiseacre
Don't I know it .. got my list ready to go when Spring opens the gate .. the big question is , "will I be able to find what I want?"
BIG sigh !

Hi Crafty
I'm going to try the code ? posting one more time .. which I guess means I have to contact "Greenthumb Sunday" home ?
As in phone home ET ? LOL
If I can't get it right .. you are my next best hope ? LOL

Nice succulents. They are of a variety that I can't grow here, so I envy those who can. You should try to join GTS again. Tricia is always very helpful if you run into problems.

Hi Joy! I, too, love succulents, and I think pairing them with seashells (another love, and both early--my first-ever "garden" was a dish of cacti and succulents I created at age 6, and I used to be my parents' worst nightmare by insisting on bringing home buckets of decomposing beach finds from our annual summer trips to Florida) is brilliant. Thanks for sharing--and for that gorgeous rosebud, too!

Don't feel bad, I couldn't make WFM Wednesday work right either. I just gave up.

Hi! I adore your little container of beautiful succulents...the larger shells at the end are a lovely touch...it looks very modern, and fresh!

I like your dish garden ... the shells look great too.

Hi Kate
Yup .. for a $1 a piece on the little terra cotta containers, how could you lose ? .. and the little sea shells .. keeps the plants "bottoms" dry !

Hello Julie
Thank you for stopping by ! .. nice that other people like this little garden too.

Hi Debbie
My head almost popped off trying to get it to work .. gun shy now ? LOL

Hi ourfriendben !
Thank you for dropping by and sharing your first garden love story ! .. I absolutely loved the beach and also took "party favors" ? home .. haha

Hi Aiyana
Yes Tricia is really helpfull .. I felt like an idiot though .. but I'll see what can be done ..
I am in love with these little darlings .. the colour of blue green, fascinates me along with the "petal" like structure.

Thanks all for stopping by !

I haven't joined it yet, either. Right now, I don't have much green. That is a neat dish garden. My luck with succulents is not good, but I am working on it!

Hi gardenpath !
My luck with succulents SUCKED too .. until I found these clay pots that breathed .. then even if I over watered .. the water expired much quicker, cutting down drowning the little guys .. plus .. the little sea shells kept their crowns up, so not to be water logged .. I think so far I haven't sent one to succulant heaven yet ! LOL

joy,

I am crazy for sedums, really love them....Speaking of pretend, I even bought some fake ones so the cat wouldn't eat them...No one can tell they are pretend!

I know yours are real plants!

I'm with ya. I tried earlier today to put that Green Thumb Sunday code into my computer. Couldn't do it. Tried again and again. Printed off all the detailed info on how to do it. I must be too menopausal myself to figure out such stuff.

Hi Gail
They make fake sedums ? Holy smokes I didn't know that ! I have a fake pothos for the bathroom and it looks pretty good to me ... so far Sophie hasn't tried to dine on these .. so far so good ! LOL

Hi Brenda
I'm glad it isn't just me .. I got the blog roll to post .. took the whole page then I just panicked .. it wasn't a pretty picture .. misery loves company ? LOL

Dear Gardenjoy, your succulent dish looks very nice and the shells lend a very cool look to it besides preventing waterlogging.
About Green Thumb Sunday, you can always try again and I know you'll succeed.

Hello greenthumb!
I lost track of you on Blotanical. It is getting so big now it is confusing at times and hard to keep up with.
Yes .. I will try again for GTS .. once I get more brain cells activated ! LOL
Thanks for stopping by !

Joy - The whole combination... dish, shells and succulents works so well, and is very attractive.

It would last about 2 minutes with my four cats (Lucy, the dog, wouldn't care) in my tiny house. I miss having indoor plants. Even the 'great pretenders' don't last. They're not edible, so are simply dismembered, disassembled and the pieces carried off as trophies, to be hidden.

Nothing like tattered silk flowers rolling around in dust bunnies... got the prettiest dust on the street, come cleaning day... Deb

It has been an experiment with these succulents .. Sophie has very stubborn Siamese blood in her once she sets her mind to something .. but only for this incident she really doesn't seem to care too much .. phew !
I went a bit over board this winter with these but somehow I haven't managed to kill them off yet ? .. I think it is the porus nature of these dollar store pots ?
I'm laughing at the pretty silk dustbunnies ! LOL
A friend of mine calls them dust ELEPHANTS ! haha

I have three post started that I gave up on cause I flubbed them up. I may go back to them at some time---but you do get mad at them and give up. I love your sedums. There are so many different varieties. I haven't tried them yet but will in my new house. I'll have a couple of sunny windows to have fun with.
