Household fertilizer. That's a good one. I would never have thought of that!

My Christmas cactus blooms at other times of the year, usually each plant has 2 sets of blooms ... one before and one after Christmas. So yours is just fine.

Hi Joy,
It's not unusual for Christmas Cactus to bloom several times a year. There are many species and hybrids, and many of them have several bloom periods. Blooms are dependent on how much light and cold they are subjected to, so maybe that's why yours in at it again. I'd follow that old addage, "Never look a gift horse in the mouth!"

We used to get one at the nursery that did bloom at this time of the year. But that one does not look like it. It probably knows that you need some cheering up from all the snow:) Nice Christmas Cactus

Ours becames a Presidents Day cactus after years of no blooms, so I don't know what's up. We do dust ours, though....:)

This is strange I left a comment yesterday but don't see it today???? My Christmas cactus blooms twice, usually once before and once after Christmas, so I think yours is normal.

Mine is blooming for the first time in years. I put it down cellar a couple of months ago, and now it is coverered with blossoms.

My sister used to have one that bloomed on Martin Luther King Day every year.

A goob is short for Goober--some people think it refers to a male part--but they are wrong. A Goober is a peanut. Or nut for short. So you are a nutcase--warm and endearing complement. In the south--we put our goobs in a bottle of Pepsi--makes it fizz and taste good. There is a candy called Goober and Raisinettes.
