False Blue Indigo and the "buzzzz"

Then I saw the "Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz" bee having a blast .. I have seen so many bees in the garden it has given me hope that they are indeed building back their numbers ?

When I first looked at this shot .. it reminded me of orchids .. False Blue Indigo .. but still .. doesn't it look like tiny orchids ?

Wonderful pictures of the bee. So glad to hear you have lots. Let's hope they ARE making a comeback. Loved your Kong container with the creeping jenny. Isn't it a pretty plant? Your 'girls' are as cute as can be. I'm sure they give your hours of joy!

I get a kick out of watching the fat bees squeeze themselves into tight flowers, wiggling back and forth. In the bottom photo it looks like it's bending the flower right over. Your blue false indigo looks good.

Hi N.S. Some of our bees are so large it looks comical seeing them try to fly .. let alone get out of the flower .. amazing insects !

Hi Beckie .. I haven't seen so many bees in the garden for years .. so I think that might just be possible ? .. Thanks for stopping by and for the nice comments girl !

Debbie .. do you have wisteria ? .. the neighbors we had in Holland had it over a beautiful pergola and it was gorgeous.

Brenda .. each individual flower on these are so detailed .. beautiful !

Hi Joy! Sometimes I think I could be perfectly happy with just baptisia and peonies. And my baptisias are abuzz with bees, too! I hope the worst is over with this latest bee plague. Those poor little guys, uh, gals!!!

Hi Gail .. wacky things are going on .. don't know what to make of it ? YES ! this has finally gotten huge in the garden .. really pretty but yes also to the seedpods .. so unique !

'ben" .. lets hope so for sure ! .. are they mostly gals ? .. worker gals ? .. guys are drones for the multiplying affect ? .. I think I have forgotten how that works with bees ! LOL

I love baptisia. I'm thinking it's time to get the blue. Purple Smoke is not thriving here. I had the blue before and it was very sturdy. Yours are gorgeous!

Hi garden girl .. yup, this is the standard one .. and it seems to be ok with a lot of different conditions .. I'm happy with it : )

Nancy I am amazed how much the bees do love this one .. I don't remember so much action like this last year !

Joy, you did an amazing job photographing the Baptisia. I must have taken a few dozen photos and just can't seem to get one that I like. Don't you just adore this plant!
