Cone Flowers with Coffee

I know .. for some one that said they have to drop out for a while because too much was going on .. here I am doing a post .. but tomorrow I truly am stuck with chores of empty drawers and moving furniture out of the way .. I just hope we don't drop anything on our toes .. hubby and I are like an accident waiting to happen .. jeez !
but here are some cone flowers to have with our coffee tomorrow morning .. hubby said the scent was amazing when he came in the door .. I think a lot of people miss out on that aspect of cone flowers .. they smell WONDERFULL !! : )

Joy, your photos are lovely and I honestly did not know cone flowers had a fragrance. I'll keep my eyes open for a garden that has them so I can check them out (next time I'm in the city). Great to know.

I do like those flowers. The centres are a wonderful contrast to the petals. The plants fade away and die in my garden so I'm quite envious :-)

Lovely joy and not a blemish on them! Mine are all chewed up by grasshoppers and beetles...sigh

Thanks Cindee .. I really have to write down the different cone flowers I have .. lost track !

Hi Jane Marie .. cone flowers just seem to blend in well even though they are different types and colours.

Thanks Laura .. I have to bow out with all that is going on the next couple of weeks. But thank you so much for thinking of me ! : )

Hey Gail .. I just caught them on time before that happened .. my poor Stargazer lilies haven't opened yet but that rotten beetle has been at them .. ugh !

Hi EG .. I like leaving the flowers in the garden .. torn about cutting any and bringing them in .. funny eh ? .. but I think the rule is to cut some and more will grow ? : )

Diane .. more so with the new cultivars bred for scent .. but good old White Swan , an old cultivar smells wonderful !!

My neighbour's White Swan have all come up pink this year, except for one white one. After what I said previously about certain plants reverting to their original, again I say you are lucky. These are spectacular!

I can see breeders would have a problem with reversions Rose .. I have one stalk on Sparkler that is green instead of variegated .. so I better cut that out .. have enough rain yet ? LOL
I heard we have broken records for rain fall since they started keeping them .. over 75 years ago .. wow eh ?

The coneflowers are beautiful, but I didn't notice a fragrance either--I'm going to have to go check mine out again. Either that or I am totally losing my sense of smell.

Good luck to Sophie--I'm sure all will go well. Enjoyed their post.
And enjoy your new mattress--when we got a new one a year ago, I never wanted to get out of bed!

Hi Rose .. I don't know if the older pink cone flowers smell , like Magnus .. but White Swan, an older white cultivar sure does !
I think that is what is going ot happen to me .. I won't get out of bed for a week or more ? LOL
