The Pinks of Pinky ?

Pinky Winky has been one heck of a hydrangea for a few of us here that were lucky enough to pick "him/her" up for this garden season. Mine in particular has had to put up with the "raccoon-man" ladder episode .. trampled, disheveled, maybe even a bit insulted at times I fear ? But has soldiered on to put out some amazing blooms despite all of the trials and tribulations ... BIG phew !
Now I have noticed the wide range of pink shades it can seem to have depending on lighting and its aging process during the season. In this bright daylight it has a modest light pink .. pretty and soothing .. just something nice to see against dark green as my yews are dressed in ?
Then by shear chance , even in bright light it takes on a violet pink colour in this shot. Almost a mauve ?
In the shade it seems to be back to its normal darkish pink colour .. I swear it looks like it has glitter on its petals some days .. there are bits of shiny reflections that even happen with Little Lamb but with Pinky as it gets darker it becomes more noticeable .. it doesn't show up well in these pictures which is a pity because it is amazing to see.

I'm glad to have it against the rich dark green of my yews .. it is a wonderful back drop for shades of pink .. especially with Pinky Winky !

It is a very attractive hydrangea. The various shadings would show up nice against the dark green yew foliage. Next to good looks, overcoming adversity is a welcome shrub trait.

I ordered this plant and should be getting it next week. Your pictures confirm I made a good choice with this Hydrangea.

Hi perennialgardener ! I just know you are going to love this hydrangea : ) .. it really is one easy and beautiful pick out of the whole family !

Northern shade .. do I have you just a little bit convinced to have one in your garden too ?

I fell in love with this hydrangea the first time you showed it--now I'm even more convinced I "need" one! Is this the variety that takes sun?

Looking forward to seeing all your pumpkins this October:)

Lovely, Joy -- such a delicate shade of pink.

Hi Nancy .. it is remarkable how many shades of pink it shows off : )

Rose .. it does get quite a bit of sun where it is in my front garden .. but I don't know if I would chance it in direct, prolonged sun .. you might want to have a bit of shade for it .. but it does seem to be happy with where I plunked it ?
Yes .. I am going to be pumpkin browsing soon ! : )
