Daffs and Daffy Cats !

Mom ................... what is that ?
MOM !!!! ... what IS THAT ?????
Did you "fall off the wagon" and buy Spring bulbs at a grocery store ??????????????
It was such a good bargain too ! .. how could I pass it up : )
BUT ... it does say product of Holland .. and they wouldn't lie about that would they ?
And ............... I think I have a spot for them .. if I look really really hard ?
Well .. we didn't get any treats like mom did so it is time to wrestle and make a fuss !

Emma started this actually ... she STARTS all the wrestling off, every single time.
I think it is because she is in the "teen" ? years of kitten hood ?
Sophie can get some good holds on Emma ... eventually .....
There are mini stand offs while they think out tactics and get their ears way back to look scary ?
Then it is non stop action until mom yells at the two of us to .. QUIT IT !!!!!!!!!!

Jen .. I am so embarrassed about it all .. but I thought if I said it here .. it might cure me ?? LOL

Hey Cameron .. how is your ever so polite, cutie pie doing ? she would never think of the tricks my girls get up to .. BIG sigh ! LOL

I didn't realize that grocery stores sold bulbs. That's okay Joy I would of been tempted too. :) By the way your cats are just too cute. ;)

Sophie and Emma are adorable! What fun it must be to have kittens creating havoc in the house. Sorry to hear that frost has hit you ... hopefully, you haven't had any killing frost yet!

Have a good week!

Yeah, I'd like to say ANYTHING to my cats and have them listen. They just give me this f-you look and go on about their business.

Do those sweet cats listen when you say STOP?
I bought those very bulbs last year (at the grocery) and they are doing well.

Sandy .. the girls almost never listen to me .. I have to get a bull horn ? .. and I just couldn't resist these old fashioned daffs !

Brenda .. I'm still laughing .. I don't get so much an evil eye as a "I'm so cute" aren't I ? look .. then the air is a little blue ? haha

Hi Kate .. well it is a bit CHILLY here .. and the few pots I have left on the deck .. it isn't a pretty sight .. so we are just about THERE ! haha

perennialgardener .. almost everything is sold at grocery stores now a days .. and they know how to tempt gardeners .. my resolve bit the dust and I caved in .. ; )

Hi Darlene (I still have to dig out my Halloween gear !!) .. it is like having extra kids when they go at it like that .. every day !!

Reminds me of Speedy and Sweetie excpet they aren't teens, they're grown ups. I guess they still like to play and have fun with each other though. I guess you're never too old to play.

Hi Cinj .. I think you are right .. Cats have a way of pushing each other's buttons ? LOL
I can't see Emma leaving Sophie alone no matter how old they get ! : )

Your cats are funny! I used to have two cats and they would chase each other around the house and knock things down.

Kitty wrestling Yay!

Hi Louise .. I bet that happened especially when the weather changed ? .. they explode with crazy energy then : )

Great finds on the bulbs...I mean a daff is a daff is a daff. :) The kitties are so cute, though that last photo looks like they throw a mean punch!

"Narcissi and Knockouts"? Very cute, indeed! I hope your bulbs reward you with an excellent spring flower show, but as a longtime garden center employee, I dare not comment on your choice of bulb venue... except to say, "Yikes!"

Feline fisticuffs are regular events here as well... brother against brother, but never against "Uncle Stanley." When Stanley tires of the triplets' attentions, he slams them to the floor with one huge paw, and stomps off for some "alone time."

They all get along with Lucy the dog, mostly because of her "I'd rather be a live coward than a dead hero" attitude. Wise girl!

I love your action photos, with the flattened ears - pretty tough ladies! ~ Deb

Deb .. What can I say about the daffs .. they were totally an impulse buy .. I fell for it .. now I have to get them in the ground like a "moveable feast" type thing .. after they bloom they will have to move from the spot .. it is for another Pinky Winky designation ? haha
The girls .. mainly Emma play hard once they get there ears back .. but Emma loves Sophie (cleans her ears for her ? LOL) .. and Sophie "likes" Emma when she is good ? .. Stanley is smart .. Lucy even smarter ? haha

Nancy .. I think Deb thinks my daff choice was not great .. she may be right .. but I couldn't help myself at the time ? .. they aren't really mean punches .. but yes, Emma is giving Sophie a work out, which their vet said Sophie needs ! LOL

Spike and Sluggo have regular romper room activities. The other day, Sluggo went flying over my head while I was sitting on the couch. Good thing I ducked because Spike was right behind him!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Giddy .. you have me laughing over here because I think all cat people have that "risk factor" in their daily lives .. "will those felines make that leap without grazing us or not?? " .. YIKES !!!
They are amazing arcrobats : )

Joy ~ Let she who is without blame, throw the first bulb. The odd seed packet or bag of supermarket bird seed (only in an emergency) has found its way into my shopping cart. I was only teasing... and shamelessly plugging the 'green industry.' I'll look forward to 'Pinky Winky!' /Deb

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Deb .. so that was a bulb I saw come flying through the deck door ! LOL .. hey .. the serious question I have for you is "do you have a Pinky Winky ? .. and if not, do you intend on getting one by way of my glowing reports ?? huh ? huh ? hahahaha !

'Pinky Winky' wasn't one of the six paniculata Hydrangeas that Corliss carried this year; however, we did have 'Pink Diamond' with a similar size and flower color. No room in this 'rinky-dinky' landscape for either one - sigh! ~ Deb

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Deb .. I was considering Pink Diamond too .. in fact .. since I'm a collector of singles most of the time .. I think I may just keep that spot for Pink Diamond and see how they compare !
You really don't have room ? oh no ... that isn't fair is it ?

Nola said...

That bottom picture looks like our house; always a cat fight in progress! They are my constant companions, and sometimes I think they are my guardian angels!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hi Nola .. they can really have "hissy fits" but they love each other .. I would be lost with out their constant compainionship .. they give so much love and concern back it is always astonishing to me no matter how long I have been a cat person .. they are amazing little creatures ! : )

lynnsdecor said...

I love the stories about your cats! When I used to have more than one, a spray bottle of water worked REAL well to break up 'hissy' fits!

Hi Michelle ..This is usually initiated by Emma .. she is still in her kitten teenage years .. won't be one until January. Sophie just turned two herself. Spray bottle ? YES !!!! ... not for the wrestle ramma but for Emma and the kitchen counter tops .. lets face it cats are going to do naughty things .. but please ! not while I'm in the kitchen and can catch you ? hahaha
