Next is a shockingly red perennial geranium .. I'm not totally sure of this cultivar .. but it has been in the garden for two years and I don't recall this RED colouring .. I guess it is trying to speak up for itself this year ?
I think the contrast of the gray/blue lavender with the red geranium is rather eye catching isn't it ?
Yes .. here I am again about this Golden Barberry .. but this heuchera .. I think Lime Ricky .. is another great contrast for those fantastic oranges of the barberry.
Especially playing off that dark green of the Campanula .. quite amazing.
But here is the strange touch. This is the sister Golden Barberry that has had no colour change like the other smaller one .. yes, a little at the bottom of the bush but not the whole BANG as the other. Still maybe the Walker's Low Nepeta told it to cool off and stay green with it ?
This is my Log Fern that just literally lays down after it thinks the season is done .. you can almost hear it snoring in fact. Mean while the Bergenia holds up the colours as best it can .. even the little Bunch Berry plant tries very hard.
YES ... I just had to include Golden Spirit smokebush one more time .. it is just so pretty : )

Hello Greenman .. You are right .. flowers are easy to appreciate . that is true .. but I think a gardening soul is very capable of seeing all the assorted plant forms as beautiful on thier own. I'm sure you do as well !

That barbery is fabulous Joy. I love my dwarf pygmy, it is coloring up nicely at the moment too. Isn't it odd how the sister is so plain in comparison? Plants are strange sometimes! You have a variety of great color combos going on right now in the garden.
Such vivid colors! And I MUST get one of those geraniums -- what a spectacular color it is.
Peach and lime are the most brilliant colors together!!

Hi PG .. it is strange to see the same two plants .. in close proximity behave so differently .. I love contrasts .. and since I don't have large gaden areas I can keep them quite close together so that really pops out : )

Deb this year has been especially good .. I truly think because the rainfall has been more than normal for us ... I suppose we will be back in drought conditions yet again next season. For now I love the colours still !

The heuchera and barberry combo is fantastic! Don't see that coral color very often...
